hei-lima··on OpenAI and Anthropic oversold AI security breaches
Hard agree on that one.
hei-lima··on Bend – a language that blocks AI mistakes via proof and runs on GPUs
Congrats, Victor!

É ótimo ver um brasileiro criando algo tão único!

hei-lima··on Bend – A language that blocks AI mistakes via proof, on CPU and GPU
Read the damn code and readme, for god's sake!
hei-lima··on Bend – a language that blocks AI mistakes via proof and runs on GPUs
Tests aren't proofs.
hei-lima··on Model Misalignment Reporting Framework
Some things in this post are so unbelievable that it just might be bullshit.
hei-lima··on Creepy Crawlies
Great chart! Does anyone know what tool was used to make this?
hei-lima··on Ask HN: GitHub employees what's going on? Why?
GH isn't good enough to charge that much for its core services. 90% of its user base would just find better or cheaper alternatives, and the only ones remaining would be legacy enterprise codebases that are just impossible or too expensive to migrate.
hei-lima··on Low-Tech Ceramic Water Filter
Mostly in rural regions, but the 'filtro de barro' water from your grandma's house beats ANY expensive filter you can get, haha!
hei-lima··on Mario Meets Pareto
Holy! This is one of the best articles i ever read here. Really, really cool.
hei-lima··on Businesses with ugly AI menu redesigns
Yeah, this thought is lame. It's not so bad in other areas, but in food, I would really like to see REAL pictures of what I'm about to order. I mean, "fake" or deceitful pictures always existed, but at least there were real ingredients and so on. I will NEVER boycott some family restaurant because the menu is AI generated, but it is tasteless and I prefer not to see it.
hei-lima··on Businesses with ugly AI menu redesigns
I live in Brazil, and on our delivery apps (like iFood), AI photos have become a plague. It's so bad seeing pictures with that distinct GPT look. You just don't know what your rice and beans will look like.
hei-lima··on 98% Isn't Much
That's why things never get better. I mean, i'm all out for retrocompatibility, but if removing something makes my experience much better and unfortunately the thing stops working for 2% of the people with outdated devices/browsers, it's not that sad, but the tradeoffs need to be measured.

I've been in the two ends of this situation, in the 2% with older iPhones and Android devices, and in the 98% with new devices. The 2% cannot hold a tyranny over the absolute majority, and vice versa. Everything must be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

hei-lima··on You can't unit test for taste
Cool! Thanks for sharing.
hei-lima··on Unauthorized alert sent to cell phones across Brazil
Suddenly "caralho"!
hei-lima··on Wake up! 16b
I'm really impressed. Those are the things that made me love programming and computing. It's all so beautiful, it's TRULY art. It's a shame that in the industry we don't usually have the opportunities to make something like that, with AIs and all that...
hei-lima··on Riot's Vanguard update reportedly disables DMA cheat hardware via IOMMU
It's a shame that Microsoft allows those companies to just spy on their users in this way.
hei-lima··on Gemini 3.5 Flash
Gonna try it.
hei-lima··on Gemini 3.5 Flash
That's one solution to the problem. But it still needs some good computational capabilities. Either we optimize the hell out of those models, or we wait for the hardware to become good enough for them.
hei-lima··on Gemini 3.5 Flash
We need another "Deepseek moment" or else it will become impossible for the regular dude to use AI. It will become something that only big companies can afford.
hei-lima··on Killed by Apple
If anything, this website provides a great track record for Apple. Most of the discontinued products are either ancient or just got rebranded, and many stayed alive way longer than expected (iPod Touches until 2022??!!).
hei-lima··on John Ternus to become Apple CEO
I agree with everything you just said. That’s exactly my take on it.
hei-lima··on John Ternus to become Apple CEO
It's uneven in my experience. OS-wise (Android, ChromeOS), I've had some big and frustrating problems. On the other hand, I really like some of their web apps (Drive, Docs).
hei-lima··on John Ternus to become Apple CEO
I kinda agree with this. But that doesn't affect my statemente.
hei-lima··on John Ternus to become Apple CEO
This!
hei-lima··on John Ternus to become Apple CEO
It's not great, ofc. But I find myself less disgusted by it.
hei-lima··on John Ternus to become Apple CEO
Apple’s software is the best in the non-free software world compared to Google's or Microsoft's, IMO. But that doesn't mean it can't be better.
hei-lima··on ggsql: A Grammar of Graphics for SQL
Really cool!
hei-lima··on Do Not Turn Child Protection into Internet Access Control
I never said this would help... in fact, I’m against this kind of measure, at least the way it’s being done. But I wouldn’t be surprised if Brazilian ISPs are forced to block this sort of thing (just look at what happened with Twitter (X) the year before last).
hei-lima··on Do Not Turn Child Protection into Internet Access Control
Congrats. Keep it that way.
hei-lima··on Do Not Turn Child Protection into Internet Access Control
I mean... access to adult content at that age is really, really bad. It really messed up my brain. Gore videos, chatting with adults, etc. But I learned many good things, too. It's a double-edged sword.
