How few songs do you listen to, and movies/shows do you watch, for this to possibly be true?
This is something I wish more people in tech understood, especially anyone who gets to decide the defaults for popular hardware and software.
The average consumer will never, ever change the defaults. So it's incredibly important that your product is an amazing experience with the default settings.
Where are you seeing this? The estimates I've seen all land around $1K.
It's maybe $1.5K of BoM total for the chip, memory, and cameras.
That assumes that suppliers are available to affordably add it.
So far Tesla is the only company remotely close to unsupervised self-driving that doesn't add $1000s to the BoM cost of the car.
This is how the economy often works. The loss of one kind of job to technology lets the business grow by using the same number of staff, or often even more, to serve new opportunities/markets/products/services.
This cost millions of dollars of tokens.
Millennium Prize Problems were used as examples of something the current approach to AI just wasn't capable of, discussions that would result in "we'll need a totally new architecture".
>our proofs differ significantly and even the precise results proved are different in the Euler case (forced vs unforced)

This is akin to the "God of the gaps" fallacy, wherein your worldview is going to be repeatedly decimated by advancements in models.
Nano Banana 2 isn't even in the top 5 image models anymore - it's obsolete: https://arena.ai/leaderboard/text-to-image

Google DeepMind is far behind the frontier. Switch to ChatGPT, Claude, or Grok!
No, this is the bar the general public sets for billionaires. They, ignorant of the scale of the problems, believe billionaires could afford to solve the world's problems. That is a widespread belief.
It was mostly PR. Gates and Buffet were (and are) rich, but their money simply does not come close to the scale needed to fix the world's problems.
Gates is worth $110 billion. Global GDP is $126 trillion.
A significant percentage of the world's hungry live under warlords, militias and dictatorships that would simply kill anyone trying to peacefully give their subjects food.
Unless you're proposing AI military interventionism, you cannot fix this.
Homelessness on the other hand is mostly a mental health and drug addiction problem. Fixing it, in many cases, would require violating the consent/wishes of the homeless person.
The world's biggest problems, unfortunately, cannot be solved by throwing money at them. A lot of rich individuals, NGOs, and nation states have tried.
It was rough when it first launched, but as of 2026 it's very fast and highly reliable, with shockingly low latency.
>SpaceX
SpaceX has been gaining market share, not losing, and its primary business is Starlink, of which most customers are consumers.
(there is also Starshield)
Just like 3.7 Flash, 3.1 Pro says "No shutdown date announced."
