synced mp4 playback is already possible using the CoWatch app. You can sync a URL from either an htttps server or a Google Drive file.

Thank you! Unfortunately the config file is not export/importable right now but I might add support for that later!

Good point. the only reason i list discord as a contact is because my platform doesn't offer private messages yet.

For anything that doesn't need to be private you can simply ask around on the public chat on the platform :)

Been developing this platform for over a year.

It allows you to create virtual rooms where you can chat with room members using webcam and microphone and run realtime apps that include:

- Screensharing(useful for e.g. Netflix)

- Cowatching video player

- SNES and NES Emulators

- Virtual cardtable

- Poker with Playmoney

- Quake 3 in-browser!

- Synced YouTube player

and many more coming.

hauxir··on Ask HN: What do you use to start your dev environment faster?
docker and docker-compose with the project root mounted as /app usually does the trick for me.

The whole game logic is run serverside, including hand and play validation if that's what you are asking.

Thank you! it's all built using Elixir on the backend and React on the frontend. In fact all the apps on the site are built using that same stack.

I'm actually planning to merge them all into one platform soon. Hadn't thought of integrating with others but good idea!

hauxir··on Show HN: rtwatch. Watch videos with friends via WebRTC, perfectly synchronized
I guess there are tradeoffs by doing it client side vs server side like your project. Like you said there's no control of the media pipeline so encoding and preprocessing the video is not possible so only video formats supported by the browser are supported.

Cool project! I made something very similar called cowatch.video

Also utilizes WebRTC

done!
hauxir··on Show HN: ImgPush – Minimalist Self-Hosted Image Upload Service for Your App
You are technically correct but it's easier to get it up and running using docker as it contains all the dependencies needed to run it and works on every operating system with very little overhead.

Simply easier to tell people to use docker rather then writing a separate guide for every OS don't you think?

Wrote this for my own app to host user avatars, hopefully useful to someone else.

hauxir··on Multiplayer Deck of Cards
I made a very similar project: https://cardtables.online

It also offers chat communication and webcam over webrtc!

hauxir··on Show HN: OpenArena Live – In-Browser Quake with Multiplayer Using WebRTC

hauxir··on Show HN: RapidBay – torrent videostreaming service using Flask and VueJS
yes
hauxir··on Show HN: RapidBay – torrent videostreaming service using Flask and VueJS
it doesn't convert the video since most video on torrents is h.264 which is supported almost universally among browsers and devices. It only converts the audio if it's not in AAC, which defaults to 128k. It also doesn't download the whole video at once, you can seek as you like using your desired player.
hauxir··on Show HN: RapidBay – torrent videostreaming service using Flask and VueJS
Made this to make playing videos from torrents as quick and easy as possible. It even downloads ands embeds subtitles!
hauxir··on Show HN: td-cli - a command line todo manager
super cool for those of us that prefer to never leave the terminal! Also a good example of quality python3 code.
