Precedents will be set here!

BACK IN MY DAY (the 90s?)

You could go to the shitty Mall and have some fun spitting off the balcony or you could go to the good Mall and have some fun trying on stuff at Hollister.

The difference was that if you tried to spit off the balcony at the good mall; you were DIRTY! (havent heard anyone say dirtyKids in a little while).

Spitting-off-the-balcony was like the PURPOSE of the Shitty Mall! Preppy kids spit on Dirty kids at the Shitty Mall!

Or maybe... Even as a teenager; I had enough respect for a place-kept-clean that I would have felt like an ASS for fucking up the good mall.

There is no more "Good Mall".

Friendly, Legitimate, Genuine, Purposeful Interaction seems to be a rare gem today. or worse; a bait-and-switch.

Many elderly folks feel that the only way to win is not to play.

This is not healthy! This is melting our brains!

There's no Chart, Graph, Gauge, or Dashboard. No way to measure the affect of this universally shared neurosis.

If "Dark Patterns" were Poison; we'd all be dead now.

Maybe it just takes longer.

"if someone were to make the simplest of all SDR's that could turn ordinary WiFi cards and devices into SDR"

I dont think you said what you think you said.

No, i'ts not a nasty comment, but you've interpreted it that way since you've made the same folly. I get that, that's human nature.

Yes, a RaspberryPI is a "Computer" or "Universal Machine". So literally every ACTUAL SMARTPHONE (regardless of price or ability) is a "Better Solution" than this.

a RaspberryPI for this purpose is such a waste!

"But Think Of The Children!" you cry!?

So now we're teaching the kids that the way to build a house is to buy a skyscraper and burn down the top floors? Seems like this has been goin on since the "S.T.E.M." fad and its pretty easy to see the effects if you stand back far enough.

you can run a RaspberryPI off a 9v battery too, just not for very long.

The page isn't loading.

EVERY TIME somebody attempts this yet again; 2 oldskool phones and a 9v battery! thats it, thats the whole thing!

So I never even saw the page this post is about, but somehow I can just feel that it somehow involves an overkill of brand-new digital electronics.

Like; is there a raspberryPI involved? cause I bet theres a RaspberryPI involved.

2 oldskool phones and 1 9v battery. AKA "telecom".

I created an account to make this comment.

I've been working with an older surgeon lately who wishes to become much more tech savvy.

His general ignorance of technology and brilliant mind concoct some pretty interesting questions that often I cannot answer confidently, and so I end up down some rabbithole.

This is the definitive beginning: https://www.macintoshrepository.org/28761-medical-housecall

This is an example of where we are now: https://www.statdx.com/pricing/

its actually really easy to find medical journals from the 90s that mention "Medical Housecall" but it kinda just disappears circa 1999.

I have "Medical Housecall" installed on an old G4. It DESTROYS this symptoma business in 4mb. 4mb that come on a disk, that you keep, in your home.

I dont think I even have any foil to make a hat; So Im gonna chalk this up to symptoms of Capitalism and our ridiculous healthcare system.

That is a cute toy, but lets also remember that in the real world; ANY and ALL bits of medical advice should only be given by someone tested and licensed to do so. ANNNNNND There are a just a huge pile of different billing codes for each and every little patient interaction. Interactions must be coded for insurance.

Funfact: Many (All?) BlueCross organizations HAVE NO FACILITY to receive insurance claims directly whether electronically or otherwise. They must rely on a third-party called a "clearinghouse", which as far as I can tell is an Excel Macro posing as a C level corporation.

in conclusion:

the total package of QEMU + OS9 + Medical Housecall is about 1.5gb and it runs off a usbdrive.

Our health is our most basic of needs, Any systemic improvements would benefit us all. 26 years of human progress later; how far back have we fallen?
