hateduser2··on It can all go to zero
Sorry but his was just a bad article. I like it for generating discussion about the topic but it’s contents were without insight and seemed mostly just to promote the author. Made me lose most or all respect for them instead.
hateduser2··on The Trouble with Mindfulness Apps (2016)
To the extent that the science says it is one way (and it’s legitimate science and you interpreted it correctly), I take your view. I still find it totally ybsatisfting as far as actually understanding the source of stress and dealing with it in a healthy and long term way.

Thanks for the jab. Makes me hate you a little.

hateduser2··on Uber remotely locked down offices during police raids, shutting off computers
Yours doesn’t discuss the timing or police raids, so it’s not as simple as saying the OP is a spin.
hateduser2··on Pick strong consistency whenever possible
That depends on their target audience actually. It’s not objective like you phrased it.
hateduser2··on The Trouble with Mindfulness Apps (2016)
Mindfulness strikes me as total BS pandering to westerners obsession and reverence for Buddhism and some orientalist kind of ideas.

Don’t kid yourself and buy into all the marketing.

hateduser2··on What It Felt Like in Hawaii When Warning of an In-Bound Missile Arrived
Was it unclear? That these are conclusions from evidence not built in popular assumptions. I don’t believe these things by training and for a long time I didn’t believe them. I’ve grown to believe themninstead.
hateduser2··on What It Felt Like in Hawaii When Warning of an In-Bound Missile Arrived
Why do you call those things assumptions? That says more about you than the people you claim are assuming these things.
hateduser2··on What It Felt Like in Hawaii When Warning of an In-Bound Missile Arrived
Front end dev is utilitarian. Learning is not 0 cost.
hateduser2··on Everyone's Getting Hilariously Rich and You're Not
Is your second ~~sentence~~ paragraph a self contradiction? Anyways it’s not very humble.
hateduser2··on Teenagers now better behaved and less hedonistic but lonelier and more isolated
I like that for myself but how can you say that is good?
hateduser2··on Rust in 2018: easier to use
Is it Aggro? I took his comment as a criticism of the author for being playful, and I’d rather the author not get criticism for that.
hateduser2··on Rust in 2018: easier to use
You can probably just ignore that right?
hateduser2··on Rust in 2018: easier to use
I like the idea but Rust has so many issues in front of it I’m not sure it has the energy to invest in something like hay.
hateduser2··on Decapitated Worms Regrow Heads, Keep Old Memories
The head is the larger whole just not physically. Conceptually.
hateduser2··on Mothers who regret having children are speaking out
If any can be wrong about their feelings then so can millions. I don’t find your argument by popularity convincing, and I’m annoyed this whole time that you decided to attack me than even consider my point.

Is there something to their feeling? Yes. Is it how they say it is? I don’t think so.

hateduser2··on Mothers who regret having children are speaking out
But that wasn’t the only fact I used, that’s secondary. Also give me a break with the empathy shtick.
hateduser2··on Mothers who regret having children are speaking out
If people can be wrong about their feelings then that seems like good evidence, save for some biological disorder, yes. I suppose you’re saying I can’t make this argument unless I’m a master meditator? And what if I don’t believe in meditation the way you do?
hateduser2··on An Experimental Course on Operating Systems
How is that a vague half truth? Just because it’s not concrete doesn’t mean it’s either vague or only half true
hateduser2··on Mothers who regret having children are speaking out
Are there wrong povs? Your comment addresses nothing specific about mine.
hateduser2··on Mothers who regret having children are speaking out
This can be used to rePly to any comment anywhere.
hateduser2··on YC Bio
What’s wrong with you
hateduser2··on Mothers who regret having children are speaking out
I find t hard to believe anyone genuinely doesn’t want to. I suggest they’re wrong about their feelings. They only exist because every ancestor of theirs has children. Every person who exists today shares that quality. It seems like a critical part of life to have kids or a kid at least.
hateduser2··on YC Bio
Why would you think this isn’t a socially acceptable POV? I’ve never heard it before and it doesn’t come across as noxious to me.
hateduser2··on The State of Atom's Performance
Vim and sublime aren’t their competitor while vs code is.
hateduser2··on Losing Faith in the State, Some Mexican Towns Quietly Break Away
That’s a pretty big gap
hateduser2··on The Empathy Gap in Tech: Interview with a Software Engineer
The act that you don’t see the value in charisma says nothin about whether or not it should trump productivity. I think it’s highly reasonable that it would and maybe obvious that it should.
hateduser2··on Why Am I So Lazy?
Rosted
hateduser2··on Many packages suddenly disappeared
I’ve seen this.
hateduser2··on Many packages suddenly disappeared
It badfles me that technologists commonly complain about new technology. As far as I can tell your complaint boils down to “people should stop making and switching to new things”.. I find it hard to understand why someone with this attitude would be a technologist of any kind, and I find the attitude really obnoxious.
hateduser2··on Many packages suddenly disappeared
Why assume they’ve already seen it? They probably just haven’t
