hasdf··on Facebook reverses Kyle Rittenhouse policy
If a hispanic guy being aquitted for defending himself from three white attackers is your best example of white supremacy in action and your reference is from the civil war - maybe take a deep breath and realize the country isn't doing as bad as your peers at facebook claim
hasdf··on Facebook reverses Kyle Rittenhouse policy
Gaige is a convicted felon who was illegally armed with a gun and drove to Kenosha to riot. It is hard to understand how you label him the good guy in this scenario.
hasdf··on Facebook reverses Kyle Rittenhouse policy
Gofundme did the same thing. They killed the gofundme for Kyle's legal defense and then after it didn't matter anymore they "reversed the decision".

this article talks about a post the family of a recent school shooter made praising/defending him on facebook - so obviously facebook is applying this rule very selectively. I think it would help their credibility if they had examples of other times they apply these rules - but it seems more like they make up the rules on the spot and apply them based on their internal politics.

hasdf··on British F-35B crash possibly caused by 'rain cover' left on during launch
to my understanding the f35 is actually pretty price competitive with other offerings. The price keeps going down as more and more are sold
hasdf··on Electric vehicles could fully recharge in 5 minutes with new cable design
this video compares co2 emissions of a tesla vs hybrid vs regular ice car. I think it is an interesting exploration of the topic although I think the presenter had a hard time getting correct data and his data on the EV is more conservative than Tesla's numbers.

I would definitely be interested in exploring this further. It seems probable to me that we won't have a better grasp on this for years yet as EVs are still pretty new and not widely adopted. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MEqxaH47DTs

hasdf··on Electric vehicles could fully recharge in 5 minutes with new cable design
I didn't downvote but it doesn't seem like a stretch to imagine that industrial mining vehicles will go electric in the near future.

Tires are definitely an issue but producing gas involves a lot of trucks as well. Between all the work in oil pumping/refining/distribution there must be quite a bit of rubber burnt!

Edit - I think the tire issue definitely needs to be solved, but theres no reason it has to keep us using gas vehicles over electric

hasdf··on Electric vehicles could fully recharge in 5 minutes with new cable design
meanwhile i bought a 240v connector for my EV but never paid to have it hooked up because the 120v connector it came with it unexpectedly turned out to be fast enough for my use case.

I tend to get down to about 50% battery on my base model3 after a weekend of errands and it will charge back up to 80% overnight

I realize this new cable design would be more for on the road quick charging - but I think even that is pretty fast currently.

the phrase comes from the unique German WW2 weapon "Sturmgewehr 44" (literally Assault Rifle 44).

It was the first example of the Assault Rifle weapon type with the defining characteristics being an intermediate cartridge (between pistol round and rifle round) that allows controllable automatic fire at engagement ranges further than submachine guns.

Most AR15s cannot be considered 'Assault Rifles' as although they are chambered in an intermediate cartridge, they are for the most part semi-automatic and not capable of automatic fire.

Note that 'Assault Rifle' does not seem to be a ATF defined term, they always use the term Machine Gun for automatic weapons. The term "Assault Rifle" is more commonly associate d with anti-gun organizations as it has become a emotionally charged word

there is a picture about halfway down this page that makes it look like he is really nailing kyle with the board. it looks brutal, right on his neck. -- but when I watch the video it goes so fast that it could also just be him basically running into him. So.. idk

https://heavy.com/news/kyle-rittenhouse-shooting-video-photo...

I guess it just goes to show how hard it is to pull facts out of a couple seconds of grainy video

I think every home/car repair that I did in the last year I learned by watching a youtube video. I would argue that not using youtube is actually very very difficult in 2021

you can clearly see him hitting kyle with the skateboard at around 15 seconds here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iryQSpxSlrg

GG is a interesting person. He was already convicted of home invasion and is therefore prohibited from carrying/owning/purchasing a gun.

He had DUIs after this event but was let off

There has been some suggestion that his ability to avoid prosecution suggests that he is a likely FBI informant in Antifa.

GG isn't from Kenosha but no one makes any issue about him illegally traveling there to riot with a weapon

hasdf··on YouTube takes down independent court livestreams
kind of like how you fail to admit that one of the two 'unarmed' men was armed with a skateboard that he was trying to beat kyle to death with.

Kind of a major omission to make when you're accusing your fellow commentators of lying by omission

if you have a garage there is the huge advantage of not having gas/oil fumes filling up your garage and seeping into your house. This was a big plus to me but I seem to be more sensitive to this then some people
hasdf··on Tell HN: Tesla rear-ended me on autopilot, no one will investigate
but the autopilot makes you nudge the wheel every 30 seconds. if people are really sleeping in their teslas they have added a device to defeat this attention tracking mechanism
hasdf··on Tell HN: Tesla rear-ended me on autopilot, no one will investigate
yeah this seems to be the most likely scenario. It sounds like the original poster's car was in the middle, tesla was at the end. OP's car suddenly breaks (or hits someone), tesla either does not react fast enough or starts reacting and then the tesla driver hits the gas pedal (meaning to break). Still not sure how they would be able to hit it twice if they hadn't backed up though.
hasdf··on Tell HN: Tesla rear-ended me on autopilot, no one will investigate
I have a tesla - I could be wrong but I don't think that autopilot has seen any updates in quite some time. The exception to this is people who have the FSD Beta - this is a very small percentage of people who were able to get a impossibly high driving score. Getting into an accident would have made it impossible for this lady to get the FSD Beta
hasdf··on Tell HN: Tesla rear-ended me on autopilot, no one will investigate
> "So she continued to use it? That's insane."

Well its proving to be a great excuse when she runs into people with her car. Sounds like a win for her

hasdf··on Tell HN: Tesla rear-ended me on autopilot, no one will investigate
when you turn on autopilot it tells you to keep your hands on the wheel and if it senses you are distracted it will turn it off if you don't wiggle the wheel a little to show you are paying attention. So at least as far as autopilot is concerned I would say the driver is at fault if they run into another car.

Ah yes the "no true journalist" argument
hasdf··on California Scrambles to Find Electricity to Offset Plant Closures
at least in my case I still pay 20 bucks worth of random fees every month even though I am generating more electricity than I use - so its more like the home solar panel people are still paying upkeep, just not paying for actual electricity

from talking to friends I think its more that there are really only 2-3 viable employers in the US, so there is little option to jump ship for higher salary. This keeps salaries artificially low. For example a friend of mine worked at raytheon, jumped to lockheed for a raise, back to raytheon for another raise, and then back to lockheed. You can only do that so many times before companies stop hiring you. Whereas in my field (IT consulting) there are an almost infinite amount of small companies to work for

oh come on the FBI is absurdly left wing and political right now
hasdf··on AT&T is partly responsible for rise of One America News Network, report alleges
Why is it such a big deal that there is a news network that diverges from the left wing group think? If you go to CNN, ArsTechnica, or Hacker News you see the same topics and the same opinions in the comments almost verbatim. So what is so wrong with having one or two sites with some diversity of thought? Don't people get tired of reading the exact same talking points on site after site?

I just do not get this drive to censure and destroy everything outside of the dominant left wing media narrative

edit - read the comments on the arstechnica article. It is pure political hatred. Completely nuts

hasdf··on Tesla's New Steering Yoke Shows Little Benefit and Potential Safety Pitfalls
I accidentally clicked 'consumer reports' while trying to get to the article and saw the recent submissions from them were all anti-tesla articles. Perhaps we need to consider whether these companies have a strong incentive to write anti-tesla articles because tesla doesn't advertise (IE they can't make money from tesla) whereas other car manufacturers spend a ton of money on Ads.

From what I've seen on youtube people who actually have the new model s seem to like the yolk quite a bit. If it was an option on the model 3 when i bought it I would have definitely considered it. Getting the top of the wheel out of my view would be nice. I'm less sure about the turn signals - but I wouldn't miss the gear lever.

hasdf··on Women are nearly half of new gun buyers, study finds
you have got it almost completely backwards. :P Automatic weapons are for all intents and purposes banned. Politicians are constantly passing new gun control. It is far easier to pass new gun control laws than it is to remove them. "Common Sense Gun Control Laws" is a term coined by the Democrats that is used to refer to any gun control legislation that they are currently trying to pass. If they pass the law than the next thing they want becomes "Common Sense"
