hasa··on Show HN: CryptoRoulette how much is worth now $1,000 of cryptos from last year
What is worth of 1.000.000$ of BTC or any other cryptocurrency? Can you go to Bitcoin bank and tell: "Put my money in dollars to this suitcase now" ?
hasa··on Fog.sh – decentralized content publishing on the IOTA ledger
Does the particular content object live as single chunk of data in the decentralized network or as multiplicated copies as in case of virtual currencies ?
hasa··on Don't get caught up in blockchain hype
I see only the fundamental design flaw in the decentralization. Copying a infinitely growing dataset to increasing amount of processing nodes is just worst kind of design error I can imagine in any decentralized system.
hasa··on A Cookbook for Machine Learning: Vol 1
I must admit I did not understand even the basics of this posting. I Need to start way further behind this level of abstraction.
hasa··on Testing FIDO U2F security keys
You're right. 2FA is convenient as hell until biometric authentication will do it with user's consent ( just tap something ). Yubico is quite near this target, but fragile usb dongle hanging from the side of your laptop isn't still optimal. FIDO is doing great work trying to bring secure authentication on the market, but the risk is that it'll be another complex OpenID which is killed by the giants ( Google, M$ etc ).
hasa··on Testing FIDO U2F security keys
Yes, biometric authentication is the future. And intelligent wearables or some other assets carried daily like mobile phones. USB dongles are just for techies and last season anyway.
hasa··on Testing FIDO U2F security keys
FIDO U2F is just enterprise stuff. My mom will never own one to log in to Facebook. So the market is very difficult for newcomers. That's why we see lots of low quality products which come and go.
hasa··on The Serverless Revolution Will Make Us All Developers
Heavy futurism, well said, even bullshit. Mechanisms which would make the IoT pieces work together do not exist. There is no "evolution" of internet which would make this happen in the long term. Everything is designed by humans by now. When robots are in charge on this planet, then I believe this could happen.
hasa··on Plasma: Scalable Autonomous Smart Contracts
Blockchain mentioned. Please explain me how it would ever work in the long run, if it scales extremely badly ?
hasa··on Reverse Engineering One Line of JavaScript
No. It is not so simple as that. Some developers don't like mindfuck with cryptic lines all the time. But as with placement of curly braces, the coding convention battle rages on. Btw the old symmetric C-style is the only right way ;)
hasa··on DHL pilot alleges poor labor practices that are spreading throughout industry
Yesss, evil nazis taking over the country. I don't see the point of the article. Automated work and cheaper labour is searched everywhere to produce more profit. Only way for people to survive in this race is to develop themselves, educate, learn, specialize, make more value. Not to build walls.
hasa··on Why Is Gopher Still Relevant?
I used Gopher 1993 in university, but I don't see it relevant today. It's history.
hasa··on ZCash Will Be a Truly Anonymous Blockchain-Based Currency
Takeover AD behind the link. Is this acceptable for a hacker news link ?
