I agree that this is the case, though the causes are pathological to the system, not the individual. You have to spend all your time at work, so you depend on it for social stimulus.
I started to interview with them once and the recruiter kept prepping me about creating "signal" which felt weird/dehumanizing to me, so I dropped. They seem bro-ey and patriarchal.
Cloudflare Pages and Workers (and similar products) are indeed great but I recently switched over to a plain old free tier Oracle Cloud VM with FastAPI behind Nginx (Docker containers). I use Cloudflare as a proxy for HTTPS/certs. I don't have to think about Cloudflare Worker limitations, can host a Postgres instance, and simply deploy through `git pull` and `docker-compose up`.
I've noticed Wittgenstein is mentioned quite a lot on HN threads about philosophy. I suspect he's a favorite of engineer types because his conceptions nullify large swaths of philosophical activity and thinking. This conclusion allows the untrained student to feel as if they've entered a cheat code to reach the end of the discourse -- it's all a language game, so I need not waste my time with further inquiry.
The book is an example of philosophy being done in a lucid, beginner-friendly manner. It's opinionated and conclusions are drawn. You might not agree with them. It's a fine introductory text for getting a sense of argumentative form and a decent sampling of contemporary philosophical debates.
