We want to make a software that enable more people to be creative with their work, with or without AI. Davinci/Premiere is great software, but for beginners it is still a very high barrier to learn the software.
AI is already used in existing software to help automate parts of editing workflow. One example: Masking an object used to be very mechanical with keyframing, Mocha makes it easier. Now with AI segmentation models, masking anything is much more automated than before. I think that's much more outside of masking that we can just do better.
It's similar in a sense that we're both exposing a mcp server to let claude runs editing tools, and also a traditional video editor interface.
It's different in terms of how you run it. FableCut requires you to install node, ffmpeg, and run a local server and connect to it via Chromium-based browser, whereas Palmier Pro is a native Mac App.
I don't know enough about the feature parity to comment on it. How is your experience with FableCut?
Long videos with different speakers is a core use case that we are trying to optimize for, please let us know how it goes for you!

I use codex and claude code daily, also build apps with openai and anthropic api keys, so i always go to openai dashboard and anthropic dashboard to track my usage. Since I spend most of times inside cursor or terminal, I wanted to quickly check my usage without leaving my terminal/ide, so i built this!
It's open-source, MIT, and built with ratatui (awesome name).
