They are enforcing rigor, on agents, the same way they would on humans. Do people think Stripe's engineering team would have been able to progress if each individual (human | machine) employee was not under harness and guardrail, and just wrote code willy nilly according to their whims? Vibe coding is whimsical, agentic engineering is re-applying what brought and brings rigor to software engineering in general, just to LLM outputs. Of course, it's not only that and there are novel problem spaces.
Why have the issues tracked on the file system at all if it can be represented in Github issues and be accessed via tool calls? Also how are you handling sub task management, are you able to link closed checkboxes in the Github issues or?
Excellent share, thank you. My question is with your setup, how strictly does Claude Code adhere to using this mode to traverse the codebase over grep? I have found this is to be a huge issue when implementing similar solutions... it loves to just grep.
For that you'd be better off having the LLM write TODO stubs in the codebase and search for that. In fact, most of the recent models just do this, even without prompting.
