I'm strongly advising against cheep providers like ovh or hetzner without proper redundancy.
The only surprising thing for me is the amount of attention those small acquisitions by Yahoo get around here.
It's also very coworker friendly since I can have my phone on mute all the time.
Overall it's a nice toy, not a life changer.
In combination with external factors (like stress) I can totally see why people are returning to addiction again and again.
I mean, it's photoshoped, but that's what they were aiming for.
I just hope they'll keep XMPP running for the chat. I'll stop using it the second it'll stop working in bitlbee.

Acupunture isn't accepted into western medicine because it doesn't actually work. It performs as good as any other placebo (reduces pain, makes patients feel better).
It's getting more mainstream, but that doesn't mean it's an accepted medicine.

It looks like it works because it exposes bias in both patients and researchers.
This is why it's more effective with subjective and self reported symptoms like pain, nausea, etc.
A great short article about placebo: http://www.sciencebasedmedicine.org/index.php/the-placebo-ef...
Just a speculation.
It does sound scary but it's really hard to do anything without those permissions.
I'm only replying to you comment because it's the top voted one.
