hailhash··on Ask HN: Tips for students before starting their first job
1. Have max fun with your co-workers, crack jokes whenever, always laugh with others, help them in every which way possible while knowing they may not always reciprocate.

2. Work like there is no tomorrow and save like you will live forever. Max the fudge out 401k.

3. Learn about office politics and stay the fudge out of it. Co-workers are human and they will make human mistakes and might hurt you intentionally or otherwise. Grow a thick skin don’t take everything others say or do so personally.

hailhash··on Google to end 'Double Irish, Dutch' tax scheme: filing
With all its great tax policies EU posted 1.8% GDP growth rate in 2018.

It's definitely working gangbusters, so lets double down on everything. There is a lot of room below zero.

Incredible story
hailhash··on Google to end 'Double Irish, Dutch' tax scheme: filing
>>The point is that normal people can't afford to dodge taxes like google (and others) so they are not happy about it.

If your assumption is all of 98,771 Google employees are dodging their income taxes on the extra money Google "saves" from Double Irish Dutch Sandwich, you could not be farther from the truth.

Someday the money "saved" from this "dirty evil" scheme has come-out in the form of * Stock buy back * Dividend * Employee Salaries/Bonus * R&D Investment * Merger and Acquisition * New Hires

All of the above are taxed anyway.

We are talking about extra "Corporate" tax whatever that means. Google "Milton Friedman and Corporate Taxes" he has a much better explanation than me.

hailhash··on Google to end 'Double Irish, Dutch' tax scheme: filing
so does every non-bankrupt decent sized "Corporation" with accountants who can do kinder garden level additions and subtractions.
hailhash··on Google to end 'Double Irish, Dutch' tax scheme: filing
Google employees pay the taxes Google shareholders pay the taxes Google customers pay taxes

Wonder where is all that tax money going to? Just curious?

hailhash··on Google to end 'Double Irish, Dutch' tax scheme: filing
When was the last time a corporation went to local Starbucks to drink a cup of coffee from all of the tax savings from the double Irish Dutch sandwich?

When you tax a corporation that gets passed on to its employees and its customers, who already pay those taxes.

hailhash··on Having Kids
Have a kid and know it for your selves. Ignore whatever Graham is saying, that’s his personal experience. Your experience will be totally different from his, if it’s not, then you are a robot, just another brick in the wall.

Note: Niece and nephews are not your kids.

hailhash··on A uBlock Origin update was rejected from the Chrome Web Store
This is the lamest excuse to block UBO. Do you need more reasons to ditch Chrome?
hailhash··on The Intelligence Myth – Why I cringe when someone tells me my child is smart
Intelligence/smart is the default condition of all children at the time of birth. It’s the non-intelligent parents who drive the intelligence out of them by their own behavior and ignorance
hailhash··on Docker protects a programming paradigm that we should get rid of (2018)
Author is trolling, not taking the bait. There are no useful arguments made in support of the title.
hailhash··on Give Firefox a chance
I am one of those developers who never switched from Firefox. Early days IE was the market leader and now it’s Chrome. Firefox seems to always the underdog. If you haven’t tried Firefox in the last year, give it a try and see for yourself.

To me Chrome is IE+Flash+PC Bloatware+Spyware.

Just check your Task Scheduler on windows and see for yourself.

hailhash··on Tesla laid off my disabled veteran husband then cancelled his sign on bonus
This twitter account has all the classic signs of troll/bot. Wonder how it made it to hacker news.

After years of read-only mode, having to create a new account to bring this to people’s attention. Please check the Twitter timeline for yourself before jumping to conclusions. I hate Tesla as much as the next guy, but this story needs to be checked out before upvoting.
