hablahaha··on Rainyday.js
So I opened this in a tab without looking at it immediately and then forgot about it. When I opened it later I was legitimately worried that water had spontaneously started streaking down my screen, so really good job, you scared me, if even for one second.
hablahaha··on A Case Against Cucumber
So what exactly does writing tests for your tests look like...? Keeping this in a Cucumber realm, of course.
hablahaha··on Interactive US Electricity Visualization Using d3
Really cool, we just spent quite a bit of time playing with it! Who knew South Dakota had hydropower, much less water...

When you get around to refactoring, were you considering ditching Rails? I think this would be really well suited (even if you expand it) to a static site generator like Middleman with Ember or Angular.

hablahaha··on Semantic UI – A language for sharing UI
I agree. First of all, why is a ui class necessary? Second, what's large? The icon, the button, the label? All of it? What's red, the icon or the button? Certainly not both. There's a reason we have classes like "btn btn-small icon-* icon-2x". A large icon in a small button. I think those names are more 'semantic'.
hablahaha··on On Funemployment (and My Next Job)
I was just thinking about doing this exact thing if I ever had a chance for funemployment. Exercise more, plan and prepare better meals, get a better sleep schedule. This is such a great suggestion, much different than just suggesting to work on side projects, building up your resume, etc.
hablahaha··on We Post Nothing About Our Daughter Online
Fast forward twenty years on her Github account - I think I would get an odd impression of her if I saw "Joined on [the day she was born]". Same goes for any site that prominently displays the sign up date as a badge of honor...
hablahaha··on A 97-Year-Old Man Who Draws Using Microsoft Paint from Windows ’95
Prints! Shut up and take my money! Oh, that's a lot of money...
hablahaha··on A Shiny Content Farm is Still a Content Farm
I wonder if they could've left off the word 'exploit'. I feel like 'use' in this case essentially means 'potential to exploit'...
hablahaha··on How Rap Genius Raised $1.8M in Seed Funding Without Knowing What We Were Doing
Same. It als really rubs me the wrong way how he claimed the baller ass Russian dude's AirBnB listing was $600, only to later annotate "It was actually closer to $300 / night, but $600 sounds better". Everything sounds better when you exaggerate.
hablahaha··on Hacker School Soylent

hablahaha··on Repository Next
I'm now seeing three inches of whitespace between the footer and the body...

Glad to see GitHub getting into the telemedicine space.
hablahaha··on Skrollr - parallax scrolling for the masses
WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF

Thanks for making my morning.

hablahaha··on How well do you know HTML?
Hehe, <insert easy joke about Opera here>. Hehe.
hablahaha··on Are coders worth it?
Bbbbbrooklyn!
hablahaha··on Show HN: Yoleo – A Beautiful RSS Reader
Well... you only live once, so you know, infringe whenever possible.
hablahaha··on Show HN: Yoleo – A Beautiful RSS Reader
Anyone else reading this in their mind as YOLO reader?
hablahaha··on Show HN: The Choice – An online programming puzzle RPG
Do you mind adding the build instructions to the README so I can run it locally? Rails holds my hand with coffeescript and I dunno anything just from looking at the Makefile.
hablahaha··on Show HN: The Choice – An online programming puzzle RPG
Also, I think the append method for the @log is getting exposed. I tried to do something (who knows now) and it said append was not a method which I assume is coming from one of the @log.append
hablahaha··on Show HN: The Choice – An online programming puzzle RPG
I know it's kind of defeating the purpose, but it would be nice to be able to skip and see the answer to the question. Most of these step through games usually let you do that, although those are made for weaklings.
hablahaha··on Show HN: The Choice – An online programming puzzle RPG
The source is really fun to read through. I definitely responded 'cataracts' to 'The more you have it, the less you see. What is it?' question and it was cool to see it in your wrongdir category.

You need to take the mindset of someone who hates humans. Just channel Kahn, it will be easy.
hablahaha··on Show HN: It's hard to make friends offline, so we built a solution
You speak kind of to the upside to having FB auth. It makes it easy to try services like this without committing to a password. If I'm on my phone or playing around with Show HN apps like this I'm probably not going to bother giving an app a unique and new password and I certainly don't want to give it my go-to lazy password. Because of that I feel like things go a bit smoother if they have FB auth. The benefits became clear to me when LivingSocial got hacked - I didn't have to worry since I use FB auth on LivingSocial and they never had my password in the first place.
hablahaha··on Show HN: Pagoda, a Zen-mode Jekyll blog editor
Samesies. Sad but happy to see someone is further along than I was.
hablahaha··on Why we're building Loom
I assume you're talking about Houston, right? ;) If not, then what are people considering the best town for healthcare?
hablahaha··on Font Awesome 3.1 Released – 54 new icons, stacked, rotated, and flipped styles
Are submissions for new icons not being accepted anymore? I remember reading that anyone could offer up their icon (in the right format, of course) and it would at least be reviewed. I now only see that people are allowed to request icons, but not actually make them (http://fortawesome.github.io/Font-Awesome/community/)...
hablahaha··on How to invite users to your app
You're already storing the code so why not just join the invite with the email and when the user logs in with an email flagged with an invite the user's state is already known?
hablahaha··on An apology to open source
My university owns anything you make while you are a student there. The example they used was something along the lines of: if you worked on it only in your dorm room and it had nothing to do with the university and received zero university funding, it was still theirs and you couldn't ever file a patent on it.
hablahaha··on R packages I wish I'd known about earlier
This article should really just be called "Everyone should just follow Hadley's Github". Actually, someone should write that.
hablahaha··on I’m Tired Of Companies Ripping off our site, So I’m Calling Them Out
SMI Propellers: "Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of intelligent effort..."

Man, isn't that the truth?
