h5n1··on IPhone 4 About to Be Flickr's Top Camera
Agreed. Although it would be significant to note that, under that rationale, the iPhones would be grouped together again, and would likely be top dogs.
h5n1··on Alternate YC Summer 2011 Class - let's do it ourselves
Yo dawg, I herd u like rejects,…

[Alternatively, dream-within-a-dream reference]

h5n1··on Meet America's Money Destroyers
Although I agree that the issue of money supply is not described well here, it's not a very long article, nor is it really aiming to explain all that. I think it's fun to see the average lifespan of bills. Who'd'a thunk that most small ones are in use for less than 5 years??
h5n1··on Wozniak: Innovative projects, not tests, should determine a student's grade
In my opinion, it would be very difficult for a national educational system to accurately grade creative projects like these, and even more difficult for these to be standardized across school systems so that the grades could be meaningful to colleges, employers, etc.
h5n1··on "Tunneling Under" the New York Times' Paywall
I think it's more of an ideology. Obviously, the NYT could (and probably will) close down particular workarounds, such as this one, but the bigger picture is that computer-savvy people will always be able to get around the paywall as long as it's targeted at blocking mainstream users.
h5n1··on Dress.me: Because Guys Hate to Shop
Ditto this. A curse of being a nerdy comparative shopper and having little sense of clothing style makes this a got-to-have service.
h5n1··on Goodnight Zune
I've listened to podcasts on my iPod and iTunes for years, through successive generations of hardware and software on both ends, and cannot think of how it could be construed as an Apple weakness. It's a pretty flawless system.
h5n1··on Will we see the NY Times paywall soon?
Now might actually be a strategically smart time to do this, what with the ongoing and particularly major stories across the world.
h5n1··on Dropbox Ticket: Enhanced mobile client communication security
Lifehacker's re-post had me scared about this. Glad HN has this to clarify; mind's at ease once more. http://lifehacker.com/#!5781788/dropbox-mobile-apps-less-sec...
h5n1··on False Alarm: Google Circles Not Coming Now, And Probably Not Ever
Glad we don't have to deal with another Google social media flop.
h5n1··on Ashton Kutcher's Twitter Account Hacked at TED
Lifehacker had this a few weeks ago, after FireSheep was big.
h5n1··on The iPod of 2004
Makes you wonder how ridiculous handheld tech will be just 5 years from now.
h5n1··on The Irken Language
Not a single reference to "invader" or "Zim" is found on the linked document :( What a tease, indeed.
h5n1··on Power user replacements for OS X default apps
I'm surprised that the author replaced iTunes with Pandora when Grooveshark is so much more versatile. Plus, it can be made into a damn good Fluid app. Additionally, some of his "replacements" are just extensions to normal processes; Hyperspaces runs within spaces, and Witch runs within Expose. On that note, though, there's a QuickTime add-on called Perian that makes the program much more versatile, and can in many cases re-replace VLC.
