gzeuson The World's Longest URL “Shortener”

http://aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa...

The race is to get the longest shortened URL

gzeuson Yann LeCun, Geoffrey Hinton and Yoshua Bengio win Turing Award

its about time :)

Do you just add machine learning everywhere to get hype nowadays? There is nothing written about machine learning on the landing page, even if it is there. I don't think it does anything that a normal db look up can't do.

gzeuson Ask HN: What do you think of the Google Stadia?

I think they are only focused on the future where almost everyone has fast internet.

I like the that they don’t have any load time. It doesn’t look like it’s going to support most games any time soon. It’s going to be mostly hype for a year , I feel.

gzeuson India will overtake the US economy by 2030

If you look at it this way, there is no real measure to see which is a better place to live.

The only thing one can agree from this article is that some countries are expected to grow at a higher rate than others only due to a larger population. I think this only makes sense if everyone is educated and the unemployment rate is low.

gzeuson Two-thirds of all Android antivirus apps are frauds

People used to install these memory cleaners and anti virus apps and I used to tell them, they don’t do anything. And they used to say, if they do then you’re screwed. The logic is just wierd for me. Idk what to argue then.

gzeuson India Imposes Complete Ban on Solid Plastic Waste Imports

This is just funny for me. India already is one of the countries where you can see waste everywhere.

gzeuson Show HN: Progress Dashboard – A dashboard to stay productive with progress bars

It's only 1$.

You cant make something like this in 8.2 mins considering minimum wage is 7.5$ in USA. Why make things for free anyway, people rarely appreciate things they get for free.

gzeuson France Plans 5% Digital Tax as Governments Chase Internet Giants

But shouldn't they like pay taxes for where the customer is from?

Suppose a guy from US purchases the service, shouldn't tax be paid there. Isn't that how its supposed to work? Taking only in terms of Giants.

gzeuson Zulip 2.0: Open source team chat

I have been using Zulip for a long time now. One of the complains I get too often is that design is not very appealing compared to slack or discord. Though it's very fast most people just don't care, and hence it's hard to convince a team. Are there any plans for UI changes? I wish you guys did.

gzeuson Zulip 2.0: Open source team chat

I think people feel more comfortable in chat than a forum. People often feel hesitated to ask simple questions on forums thinking it's stupid. Plus forums take too long to reply.

It's often better to have both, I think.

gzeuson Show HN: Pgsh branches your Postgres database like Git

it's very cool. But could you improve the docs a bit? hard to understand

gzeuson Python tricks 101

I just wanted to go with simple one-liners. But you are right.

Yes, I will try that. Thanks for the tip.

gzeuson Show HN: Eternity – Chrome Extension to track the progress of time and tasks

Really cool extension

gzeuson Model Zoo – Pretrained deep learning models

This looks like a Pretty neat idea. Do you cross check the models to see if they are working? Or you just consider based on stars?
