gyudin··on Magnus Carlsen Wins the Freestyle (Chess960) World Championship
The curse of being born in Smartphones’ generation :3
gyudin··on X offices raided in France as UK opens fresh investigation into Grok
People having different opinions other than globalists elites is destabilizing to their reign :))
gyudin··on Earth is warming faster. Scientists are closing in on why (2024)
I mean there was not a single point in history when climate hasn’t changed. We literally live in a warm phase of Ice Age.
gyudin··on EuroLLM: LLM made in Europe built to support all 24 official EU languages
How competitive is it performance wise to other open source models? Considering they took €50 millions in funding.
gyudin··on Solar leads EU electricity generation as renewables hit 54%
There were not much disruption though, EU has payed Russia over €214 billions since the start of the war
gyudin··on KDE launches its own distribution
Yeah, probably the problem is nobody has figured out how to monetize Desktop OSes properly.
gyudin··on KDE launches its own distribution
After decades of development and billions of dollars in investments can we have just 1 distro that works as smooth as MacOS and then we can get back to having 2000 others for that one time we need to run it on a coffee maker
gyudin··on Eastern Baltic cod grow much smaller than they did due to overfishing
Classic and, as usual, nobody is held accountable for it. Classic EU.
gyudin··on V-JEPA 2 world model and new benchmarks for physical reasoning
They don’t use it because it’s unsafe and potentially life threatening lol
gyudin··on Go is a good fit for agents
It is not. Human coding languages and paradigms revolve around solving problems related to issues that human struggle with. We need AI coding languages that are easy to read and verify by humans, but should solve problems that AI agents struggle with.
gyudin··on Devstral
Super weird benchmarks
gyudin··on ICE Deports 3 U.S. Citizen Children Held Incommunicado Prior to the Deportation
Usually at least one of parents is allowed to legally stay to take care of a kid.
gyudin··on Russian Propaganda Has Now Infected Western AI Chatbots – New Study
Sooner or later, people will face the unpleasant realization that Putin is just an ordinary right-wing democrat from a past generation. And that he is not building the USSR or a copy of China—but is literally modeling and copying many aspects of how the US operates, only applying it to an even younger nation with a significantly weaker economy.

Eventually, even the Europeans will come to understand that sheep spend their whole lives fearing the wolf, when in reality, they’re all destined to be slaughtered by the shepherd. So don’t be surprised by Trump actions lol.

gyudin··on OpenAI vs. Elon Musk Countersuit
“Sam wants to be a hardcore billionaire, but his mom Elon won’t let him”
gyudin··on AI coding mandates are driving developers to the brink
We should also acknowledge that most modern developers aren’t as skilled or knowledgeable as they believe. The majority don’t even meet the standard of being called true engineers.

Many lack experience with distributed, high-load systems, fail to write code that meets cybersecurity requirements, and have no background in system design. On top of that, most have never worked in environments where backend and frontend are properly separated.

I’ve seen so many posts like, "How is it even possible that landing a good junior job requires 1–3 years of experience? When after 3 years of coding blogs running on Wordpress you can already be a mid on a way to senior!"

gyudin··on Sweetener saccharin shows surprise power against antibiotic resistance
I wouldn't be surprised. Living in US more and more of my immigrant friends discover severe food sensitivities that they've never experienced before.
gyudin··on Neurotoxic worms growing up to 3ft long are in Ontario, Canada
Doesn’t sound like it is a sustainable approach to the problem.

But I generally believe that as DNA modification methods become more accessible, more and more people and states will use insects and arthropods resistant to everything for ecological sabotage.

Pandora's box has already been opened.

gyudin··on SciOp torrents: download, seed erased US Gov sites and datasets
Nah, thanks lol. Not gonna risk seeding something unverified oO
gyudin··on JesseSort: A novel sorting algorithm that is faster than Python's default sort.
Like Dijkstra's algorithm? Knuth-Morris-Pratt algorithm? Huffman coding?
gyudin··on Teen on Musk's DOGE team graduated from 'The Com'
He cites same journalist Krebs that has no cybersecurity background. Even Marc-André Argentino himself is a master of arts in theology and not a real cybersecurity specialist.
gyudin··on Teen on Musk's DOGE team graduated from 'The Com'
Yes and he’s literally just a journalist with no real cybersecurity background
gyudin··on Teen on Musk's DOGE team graduated from 'The Com'
It is not. You could literally spend 1 minute googling to check that the only mentions of it point to the same website.
gyudin··on OpenEuroLLM, an 'open, compliant, diverse' series of foundation models
Another example of a cargo cult
gyudin··on YC is wrong about LLMs for chip design
Thank god humans are superior in chips design especially when you have dozens billions of dollars behind you, just like Intel. Oh wait.
gyudin··on Is the UK's liver transplant matching algorithm biased against younger patients?
What can go wrong when you let government agencies with no expertise to develop and maintain AI models and algorithms, right?

And then we get articles saying that AIs are biased, racist and don’t work as expected and that AI in general as a technology has no future.

I can even predict what will be their solution lmao, to pay atrocious lump of money to big consulting agencies with no expertise to develop it for them and fail again.

gyudin··on If you're curious why every username is a domain, it's because users are sites
Yup, facepalm
gyudin··on An Intuitive Explanation of Black–Scholes
Considering they only choose top performers and inflation sounds like a safe guess :D
gyudin··on They stole my voice with AI
It's not even close to his voice lmao, just has similar cadence.
gyudin··on Glass Antenna Turns windows into 5G Base Stations
Perfect for businesses in San Francisco :D
