gutini··on Ask HN: Do you invest in the stock market?
Yes, I dipped my toe in recently. Because the market has been a bull over the last few months, I have made money. Yet, I worry that my success gives me false confidence in I know what I'm doing. I also devote time to just watching the numbers. And, like watching twitter, I recognize it's not very healthy or constructive.

My approach is closest to technical analysis, swing trading, and the CANSLIM method: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CANSLIM

gutini··on Looks Like Zynga Just Bought OMGPOP For $200 Million
Does anyone else question Zynga's growth model? http://www.fool.com/investing/general/2012/03/21/welcome-to-...
gutini··on Notifications are Evil
For iPhone users, all app notifications can be changed, except sadly for the App Store. For me, the only pesky red badge that remains on my screen is that of the App Store. And the fact that a few of my apps need to be updated is something I don't want to be notified about.

Personally, I think the pendulum will eventually swing back as users get tired and frustrated with all these services vying for their attention.

gutini··on Clear: doing for To Do lists what Dropbox did for file syncing
Some are calling this the future of interfaces. As a designer, I'm curious as to how you would prototype these interactions. Are there tools out there that could do this? Seems to me you need to have out of this world design and development skills to bring this from idea to app.
gutini··on Build a house for less than $5000
Has anyone read anything on Zach Klein's cabin in NY? Very curious how he went about designing and building it. http://beaverbrook.com/
gutini··on How to Build a Portrait with Dice (using Photoshop)
I used a similar visual concept to produce the following: http://www.behance.net/gallery/Impossible-Triangle/1968627

However, I chose to manually use random numbers so it wasn't exactly quick. I wonder if there's a way I could have hooked Photoshop up to do that.

gutini··on Remembering Steve Jobs: A Million Tributes From Around The World
Poignant. Though it's hard to finish reading some of the longer messages before the stream moves down.
gutini··on Tired of Being Tired
"Be less busy. Seriously, we’re too busy these days. Cut back on commitments, put space between things, allow yourself to have a slower pace. Your energy levels will thank you."

I think the key here is not to fill the "space" with directionless Internet/Twitter/Hacker News perusing. Easier said than done.

gutini··on Generation Limbo: Waiting It Out
I was just going to comment on that exact quote. Sounds like a rallying cry for the Coddled Generation.
gutini··on Yes and yes: 31 Things I've Learned in 31 Years
Personal edit: "Act like you know what you're doing; most people are just winging it anyway."
gutini··on iCloud beta
If anything, excellent use of Steve's turtleneck as background texture inspiration.
gutini··on Why the #AskObama tweet was garbled on screen
An error like this should not detract from the value Mass Relevance delivers. Clearly an event like this or similar events like the Oscars in which they take part are better, more engaging because of their involvement.
gutini··on Top 20 Motivation Hacks
Hmm, I appreciate this list, however Leo has also written about being "goal-free." http://zenhabits.net/no-goal/ Seems a bit conflicting.
gutini··on How I Use Twitter
Early in a Twitter users life, you realize you can't read everything. That's fine. But what's harder to overcome, is not opening up the stream as a means of distraction. Humans' basic foraging tendency makes it so enjoyable to find that little piece of interesting information. Except you do that too often, and you don't actually get anything done.
gutini··on Ask HN: Review my status board startup
Do you mind sharing who you outsourced development to and how you went about finding a developer?
