guilamu··on Cinematography of “Andor”
"You guys are excluding the George Lucas movies from discussion right?"

We are not. Andor is the best Star Wars ever made, full stop. IMHO, it surpasses, by far, anything Lucas ever did.

guilamu··on Why old games never die, but new ones do
I consider it better than 0 source at all. I also have access to the decrypted assets of the game and can personally confirm but the value of that is nil since I can't bring proof.

I'm pretty sure you could find dozens of sources confirming that too, but I don't have the time atm.

Confirmed here : https://www.reddit.com/r/FortNiteBR/comments/1agkxcd/the_gia...

(only one skin is a pay to lose skin with a bigger kit box)

guilamu··on Why old games never die, but new ones do
No, this is just plain wrong. The hitbox is the same one on all skins. On payed skin like peely for example, the skin is bigger and will be more visible, but the hitbox stay the same. This is pay to loose if anything.

guilamu··on Why young parents should focus on building trust with their kids
The race or location of the parent absolutely determines their childhood. This has been studied for decades, and it's called Practice theory. It emerged in the late 20th century and was first outlined in the work of the French sociologist Pierre Bourdieu [1].

This is very rare, so much I can't remember when was the last time it happened, but I was inspired by your words.

Thank you for writing them.

guilamu··on Apple threatened workers over their talk about pay and remote work, feds charge
There was no deception. He said those words exactly: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/article/2024/jul/30/dona...

Days later, he explained them. Knowing him, he could have meant them literally. He said he did not. Again, after the fact and after the global uproar.

Those are the facts.

guilamu··on Ryzen 9000X3D performance according to MSI
Wrong. Any competitive FPS is cpu bound and those 3ds amd cpus are doing great with those 1%low FPS.

guilamu··on AMD's Radeon 890M: Strix Point's Bigger iGPU
Be careful, most bios will let you use only 1/4 of the total ram for the integrated GPU. Some - really bad - bios are even limiting to 2gb totally ignoring how much ram is available.
guilamu··on OpenAI slashes the cost of using its AI with a "mini" model
For some reason I can't edit and fix the typo. Anyhow, thanks for the correction.

No idea what the leaderboard says, it's just been night and day for me since Sonnet 3.5 got out. Maybe my use case is just what sonnet does best.

guilamu··on OpenAI slashes the cost of using its AI with a "mini" model
Claude 3.5 sonnet is so much better in every test I made (coding and everyday mondain stuffs), it beats me why anyone would choose chatgpt (I'm using free versions only).
guilamu··on Ad-tech setting 'Privacy-Preserving Attribution' is opt-out in Firefox 128
Won't happen anytime soon : " Will Ladybird work on Windows? We don't have anyone actively working on Windows support, and there are considerable changes required to make it work well outside a Unix-like environment.

We would like to do Windows eventually, but it's not a priority at the moment. "

guilamu··on How Good Is ChatGPT at Coding, Really?
These days, I'm using Claude 3.5 to create WordPress plug-ins with some success and some failures. What is sure though, is that Clause is miles better than chat gpt at creating WordPress plug-ins. The last 10 times I tried to create one with chatgpt, I had a total WordPress failure.

guilamu··on PHOLED Will Transform Displays
Yeah, also, but to be fair, I've got a 6 years old OLED phone without any burn-in, and a 3 years old OLED laptop without any burn-in.

So, I don't know, I guess unless you purposely display a static white element for hours every day for years, you won't live to see a burn-in on an OLED display.

guilamu··on PHOLED Will Transform Displays
Oh, I agree. $1,200 monitors are mostly better than $300 ones.

A more interesting comparison here IMHO is with panels using the same technology, sold around the same price (IPS or VA) and lacking Mini-LEDs backlighting.

Rtings seems to conclude that Mini-LEDs backlighting is far better than full panel back lighting.

Hell, I'm using one right now (KTC M27T20, paid 330 euros) and it's just amazingly good... even if not as good as OLED.

Also, right now, OLED also suffer from text fringing issues : https://www.flatpanelshd.com/news.php?subaction=showfull&id=...

guilamu··on PHOLED Will Transform Displays
MiniLED is not "just marketing" according to rtings:
