something i like about my copies of the original printing are the little rule/scoring cards that were great to hand to friends learning. i would love to pick up reprints
mcleod++ thanks for the info
My favorite card came discovery in adult life was the climbing genre. Haggis, Tichu, Dou Dizhu
My second was learning about Cuttle and the timing of it/Magic the Gathering
Lest not forgot The Eggman: https://youtu.be/yewjkwZB-YE?si=B01MigqdtkoVILi1
I make a lot of lil one offs, and I want a static page, and neocities (from main account) simply has an input box for a new site name, so I "spin up" w/o registration
neocities is cute, the spirit of it. I have no idea if they're still accepting $100 of btc, it was just appealing when I noticed once upon a time
I’ve spun up so many one offs
You can still get help from the author through the forum/discord, when you're running into something confusing
I never really go hard w/ it, merely being able to version your aliases/triggers/etc is nice!

Just the other day a friend went to a concert, Mr. Bungle, and so ended up on wrong wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Rape_in_Cyberspace
So I went down that rabbit hole, read the essay, bought the book, and days later here appears Karl Porcupine
cmrdporcupine 18 hours ago:
> "I was there, Gandalf, 3000 years ago"
> From "A Rape In Cyberspace: "no hate, no anger, no interest at all. Just…watching. Others were more actively unfriendly. “Asshole,” spat Karl Porcupine, “creep.” But the harshest of the MOO’.. "
> I was Karl Porcupine. Quite young then, though.

Gonna just link dump if you wanna rabbit hole today.

> SoX - Sound eXchange, the Swiss Army knife of audio manipulation
> SoX reads and writes audio files in most popular formats and can optionally apply effects to them; it can combine multiple input sources, synthesise audio, and, on many systems, act as a general purpose audio player or a multi-track audio recorder. It also has limited ability to split the input in to multiple output files.
> Almost all SoX functionality is available using just the sox command, however, to simplify playing and recording audio, if SoX is invoked as play the output file is automatically set to be the default sound device and if invoked as rec the default sound device is used as an input source. Additionally, the soxi(1) command provides a convenient way to just query audio file header information.

spoiler: we haven’t done that yet, so far it’s really kinda like “ok well it’s not appearing to be unhealthy, there’s no noticeable tolerance, what’s next”.
Also the linked video is going to have parts way out there for some folks here. Some have much different beliefs, there’s a few mentions of Syncronicities
But this is a newer rabbit hole for me and one thing is certain: I want to know why DMT has our brain building an entirely different world model, almost repeatable, completely throwing ours away. What’s the evolutionary reason even? There’s some theories but none anyone feels great about.
If anything has peaked your curiosity, consider his books “Alien Information Theory” and “Reality Switch Technologies”
Also, DMTx is undeniably interesting from my point of view. We’ve recently completed a trial involving hour long sessions in extended DMT state
Just in case someone quickly glances and think it's blockchain specific, it isn't:
> This kind of poem was designed to be recorded, collected, and traded using the Zora protocol, but it can happily exist anywhere; an amulet absolutely does not have to be recorded on a blockchain to be an amulet.
this will let chats update in the background aka you can spin up multiple chats at once (though i don’t do this often)
like yeah it’s paid but the dev is very committed and i’m very pleased

Emily Kisane was on the ep, following their piece that blew up https://erinkissane.com/blue-skies-over-mastodon
> In addition to Bryan Cantrill and Adam Leventhal, we were joined by special guest Erin Kissane and long-time acquaintances of the show Tim Bray and Steve Klabnik.
edit: okay done

Two examples in case you have a preference w/ or w/o the preview:
fzf_insert_directory_preview() {
local dir
dir=$(find . -type d -not -path '*/\.*' | fzf --height 40% --reverse --preview 'tree -C {} | head -200')
if [[ -n $dir ]]; then
READLINE_LINE="${READLINE_LINE}${dir}"
READLINE_POINT=$((${#READLINE_LINE}))
fi
}
fzf_insert_directory() {

dir=$(find . -type d -not -path '*/\.*' | fzf --height 40% --reverse)
if [[ -n $dir ]]; then
READLINE_LINE="${READLINE_LINE}${dir}"
READLINE_POINT=$((${#READLINE_LINE}))

bind -x '"\ey": fzf_insert_directory_preview' # alt-y
