There actually are still suggested tags. The field shows up between "Tags" and "Comments" if the link has been tagged before.
greg5green··on To the person who stole my phone last night
The IMEI can be blacklisted if it's reported stolen.
greg5green··on T-Mobile Rocks
Yes, there is free UMTS/HSPA/EDGE roaming on AT&T for post-paid plans (aka not the $30 100 minute/5gb plan) and there is a data limit. For my plan, its 50 megabytes, which doesn't seem like much, but AT&T throttles you to 128kbit/s, so you really have to work hard to get to that 50 megs.
greg5green··on Yeoman Generator for WordPress + Vagrant + Multi-env
I'll have to try this out next time I work with on a new WP project. Don't do it often enough to have my own workflow set.
greg5green··on Node.js and the new web front-end
Unfortunately, concatenation can still be a mess if you don't know how it works. And sometimes in spite of knowing how it works.
greg5green··on Why I gave up my US passport
So it's like prison. Got it. Very American.
greg5green··on Why I gave up my US passport
If corporations are people, why do they not need to pay taxes when they go all "ex-pat?"
greg5green··on JavaScript can double your codebase so make sure you need it first
SPA = single page app
greg5green··on Cancel Netflix if you value freedom
Because the onus to create it is suddenly in the streamers hands instead of Microsoft or Adobe's.

Netflix has a hell of a lot more reasons to make their DRM bit work in Linux than Adobe and way, way more reasons than Microsoft.

greg5green··on Apple TV for Torrent Streaming in JS
I don't know if he had written anything up, but PlexConnect (https://github.com/iBaa/PlexConnect) uses a similar process to serve Plex up to the AppleTV via the Trailers app.
greg5green··on Free Official MSIE VM's for Linux and Mac
Apple TV is iOS, not OS X.
greg5green··on Do web designers actually use the internet?
#fff!

1. This is so true. I can sort of remember some of which companies allow spaces and special characters in their passwords, but 9 out of 10 times, I either type in 4 or 5 passwords or get myself locked out and have to reset the password. Frustrating.

3. Well that is a pretty silly quibble. You can choose how you send it: either click on it and use your default email client or right click and copy the link/email address to your clipboard and use it wherever you want. Easy peasy.

5. In my experience, designers are the only ones who actually put a softer white in their designs/pages. It's something the average developer that got stuck with doing a front-end design wouldn't do.

greg5green··on Florida shortened yellow lights to increase red light camera revenue [video]
$174 USD isn't unreasonable for a 10mph over ticket in the states. I'd expect that plus court fees here.

When looking at the map that was posted two things are clear to me:

1. Blocking 3/4 of one of the lanes under the bridge is a danger to both motorists and pedestrians. 2. I highly doubt there are many pedestrians at this intersection. It is basically an industrial park and the road dead ends a block away.

greg5green··on Ask HN: Do you click on ads as a way to say thank you?
I do not click on ads, unless it's that 1 in 1 million chance I want to see their product.

I also don't block ads.

greg5green··on Why Young Americans Should Work Overseas
Don't forget that Americans working overseas still have to pay the IRS!
greg5green··on Choosing a Programming Language
I tried to take the quiz but the app the OP built it in on FB kept asking over and over and over for permissions I wasn't willing to give it. :(
greg5green··on Poll: If you're in the US, What State Do You Live In?
And voted as such.
greg5green··on AT&T Will Force Your Data Plan For Your Unlocked Out-of-Contract "Smart" Phone
That means that you had 30 days from when they changed the TOS. Not from when they started charging you.
greg5green··on AT&T Will Force Your Data Plan For Your Unlocked Out-of-Contract "Smart" Phone
Oh, it is in the TOS. It's shady and I think it's dumb that AT&T does it, but he definitely "implicitly agreed" to it.
