I feel like this is a case of personal preference over actual issue.
Care to explain?
Also where I moved from recently, they changed a roundabout intersection into a traffic lights intersection. And the traffic used to flow. Now it’s a stand still.
There’s always so many little insights when you use the road daily that a planner will never have unless they do the same.
Melbourne where I am kind of close to now, has an absolute clusterf*ck of overpasses, underpasses, toll ways, free ways, tunnels all coming & going out of a neatly planned grid. They probably think it’s planning perfection while driving it as a non-resident is an absolute nightmare. Sydney which is famously poo poo’d for not being planned in Australia is 10x more straight forward to drive.
Lights suck unless there’s sufficient traffic.
I’ve known plenty of farmers & co-ops. Big, medium, small, family. None used derivatives, at least not after trying them. A lot tried but never worked out like the finance people sold it to them.
It’s always finance people selling them, talking about the need.
It’s great there’s a market for it. You don’t need finance people mucking things up when actual delivery is the problem.
It’s like people visit the remains of the forum in Rome and picture the colours being as they are today instead of the ridiculously bright/strong colours they would have been when erected/used.
People don’t complain about roads & gutters because there’s idiots on them that drive. Idiots that drive get the deserved blame.
Words matter. The internet rocks but social media sucks, apps suck, elected representatives suck.
Yes, there’s no complaints from me :) Spent 4 months camping and now I’m still camping but fixing a property.
I’ll do something for money next year, who knows, I might find a good programming contract or I might be serving coffee at the local cafe!
My home town had super undervalued real estate for roughly a decade prior to 2023/4.
I bought another stinker of a property nobody wanted.
I’d save and look for under valued property, my understanding is the US has ridiculous amounts of it provided you’re happy to live in small places.
Grab 2 packs of dried pasta instead of 1 for example. Rice. Beans. Canned stuff like veggies, fish, even the little single serve veg/beans etc.
Anything is better than nothing which is where most people land. Even knowing you got enough food stuffs for a day is enough comfort to ward off panic in disaster situations.
A 24/30pk of 500ml water can be had for like $5/10. Also very useful outside of disaster if they’re cycled through.
I bought a seriously derelict property in country Australia and am having a good time slowly fixing it up.
I’ll get back to programming next year, hopefully the blow-ins have moved on to the next hype cycle by that time.
AI is the successor to all things crypto, there’s definitely religious fervour to it like there was around blockchain/NFT’s changing the world.
Serious question - what do you do for fun? I find fishing with friends enjoyable, and using my hands tidying up the old place I bought. It’s not innovating software I’ll never use but I’ll never tire of writing the same old ASP that delivers my clients the results they’re after.
Everyone is talking about contracted revenue like it’s money in the bank.
