building a collaborative audio/midi/video platform - https://sequencer.party

So we'd be watching a movie, he'd have his computer speakers turned up in his room, his bot would announce and he'd get up and leave, already in conversation
If libraries didn't exist today or were removed even for an instant can you imagine someone arguing for their creation?
"I want to make a public space where people can go and take home media. All for free. Paid for by the government."
They would be laughed out of the room.
Libraries are the last remnant of a past society where people's needs were considered more important than corporate needs.
Most of the use cases I've seen have them report to Home Assistant or something similar, but I think some people use them directly without a host.
But the marketing copy really feels off to me.
"Bringing the joy of music making to everyone."
The joy of music making involves taking an active role in the creation of the piece. The joy of music making is not getting a finished piece delivered to your door without any effort. The joy is in the process, not the outcome -- especially if everyone can generate the same result as you. There is no emotional investment.
And I say this as someone who plays acoustic instruments as well as program drum machines, and writes DSP and MIDI sequencers. Whether you're playing a piano or programming a cool drum beat the joy comes from taking an active control of the creation process and finding something new to create, unlocking secrets new and old.
I would accept a marketing angle like "generate free to use background audio for your podcast / video / video game / commercial / whatever".
But IMO there is no joy in pressing a button.
Maybe their other products mentioned on their primary brochure page let the user go a bit deeper, and that I think has potential. Garageband is a great example of giving the user creative control but simplifying a ton of the complexities of finishing a song.
We should work backwards from "what skills should students learn".
Maybe we need to make larger assignments that need to pass larger acceptance tests. Students who chose to use chat gpt will also need to learn the skills necessary to debug its output.
Collaborative real-time audio/video/midi platform that supports VST-like web plugins (the WebAudio Module 2, or WAM2, standard)
Shipping was $2.99
It is a modular audio/video/midi environment that supports Google Docs-like multiplayer, and supports third-party plugins (a format called Web Audio Modules 2 -- like VST or AU but for the web).
One of the parts I'm most proud of is the MIDI sequencer plugin, where you can script a custom MIDI sequencer in a few hundred lines of javascript:

Still a lot to do on it, but in it's current format I've had some fun jam sessions where people sequence my hardware synthesizers over MIDI, and listen to the result over twitch.
Longer-term it will have thousands of samples, many more WAM plugins built in and templates available in the public library, integration into freesound and archive.org
I've previously made two synth-related apps for iOS (Synth Modes and Spectrum synthesizer bundle).
I delayed getting glasses for a very long time, and the change was shocking from the moment the optometrist dialed in my prescription. Suddenly I knew what it was to see clearly again.
10/10 would recommend
Thanks for the takeout advice.. onto that now!
Maybe it's because I haven't used a 2FA code on this account in the past year? I typically stay logged out of my Google account and just have the email forwarded to another provider.
When I click the second link, I'm forced to reauthenticate. During that reauthentication my only option for 2-factor auth is... a valid 2FA code. Backup codes are not allowed.
I suspect since you originally logged in with a 2FA code (I'm guessing), your session is marked as "recently two factor verified", and when I logged in with a backup code, I was not marked the same level of "secure".
It would probably work if you used the official browser, it's not a bad idea for the website to block webviews. But pretty funny that their app uses a webview which the service then blocks.
On what page do you see the Authenticator app listed? I suspect it's on the "Two Factor Auth" page. My problem is that I cannot even load that page. I click on "Security" in the menu, and it's when I click on "Two factor auth" to do any 2fa-related task, that's when I'm forced to log in and provide a 2fa code (which I do not have)
To remove the lost 2FA, I need a fresh 2FA code. No alternatives given.
