(Although that No is getting a bit blurry with US social media bending over for commander cheeto)
What would keep me up at night if I was still more on the ops side is “computer use” AI that’s virtually indistinguishable from a human with a browser. How do you keep the junk away then?
+5 Insightful
If someone says “hey you can’t say the n-word, that’s racist” and someone’s reply is “don’t censor me!” the latter isn’t advocating for freedom of speech, they’re advocating for racism.
Defining what “woke” means in terms of the fake justifications of the “anti-woke” crowd is BS. What people labelled as “woke” want is for people to treat people better. “Anti-woke” doesn’t want that.
What I find (being in the latter category) is most LLM code output falls on the spectrum of “small snippets that work but wouldn’t have taken me long to type out anyway” to “large chunk that saves me time to write but that I have to thoroughly check/test/tweak”. In other words, the more time it saves typing the more time I have to spend on it afterwards. Novices probably spend more time on the former part of that spectrum and experienced devs on the latter. I suspect the average productivity increase across the spectrum is fairly level which means the benefits don’t really scale with user ability.
I think this tracks with the main thing people need to understand about LLMs: they are a tool. Like any tool simply having access to it doesn’t automatically make you good at the thing it helps with. It might help you learn and it might help you do the thing better, but it will not do your job for you.
Surely some adherents of each use it to feel righeous/superior, but in only one case is it actually justified.
> people on the American political right see it as what this website describes it as “ A self-righteously moralistic person who behaves as if superior to others.”
I think those are just two perspectives on the same situation. “wokeness” is realizing we should be treating people better and “anti-wokness” is people feeling called out by that.
People tend not to like it being pointed out that they are assholes, especially when they know it’s true. That’s pretty much the whole “anti-woke” thing in a nut.
It’s a reaction to discrimination. If there wasn’t racism and sexism and discrimination there would be no “wokeness”
So congrats righties, you got what you asked for
But if you’re asking for something you don’t know how to do you might end up with junk and not even know it.
It can be, but ideally each agent’s model, prompts and tools are tailored to a particular knowledge domain. That way tasks can be broken down into subtasks which are classified and passed to the agents best suited to them.
Agree RE it being bruteforce and expensive but it does look like it can improve some aspects of LLM use.
