Agreed, but that's because they're hard to integrate together: one is concerned with enumerating over all facts that humans know about (a la Cyc) and the other is concerned with learning those directly from data. Developing feedback systems that combine these two would be quite exciting.

I've been spending my free time writing an essay about what it will take to simulate reality inside of a computer. So far, I've been thinking about compute requirements and what current trends in programming point to, but I'd love to hear your thoughts and feedback on what should be considered.

Can this approach be made more robust so it could be used in critical programs? Is there a way to formally verify performance of an approach like this?

I have a good friend who plays obsessively on chess.com who's taken a "come as it may" attitude to cheating. I wonder if there's a better, more restricted, version of chess.com that minimizes cheating.
