"Big Leak of Data" but doesnt actually make the data public. I mean, seriously???
You mean /pol/ just spamming the 'repeat after me' command to get the bot to parrot anything they wanted?
That or amazon did for sure (owns Twitch)
On the other hand, my work is not that stressful, and I'm still going to school so my job is very flexible on time.
Anyone else been in a position like me?
Yep, its a pain on mobile, is bloated (so non direct image links like i.imgur/garbage.jpg) load slowly. The sponsored content is annoying too with the adds.
I also find it ironic that the Imgur people hate "reddit" and redditors, even though imgur was pretty much made to service reddit.
Even though they usually communicate via SMS or other super low tech ways (at least during the Paris attacks). It's laughable really.
how do you find the video you want without using youtube? do you just use the youtube search interface then download the video by copying the url (w/o even clicking on the link to start the video buffer)
Then again, I go to a state school and a lot of my classmates (if not all) are not super into programming scene(like maintaining a GitHub, doing side projects out of school, etc)
edits: clarity
Proprietary, closed source development vs. Open Source software development in a nutshell.
I'm really glad a friend recommended IntelliJ IDEA to me. It's a great product. Having used both Netbeans and Eclipse on a rather powerful machine, the UI would lag. I don't like to wait for computers to finish computing things when I'm programming pretty much in just a text editor ("writing code mode")...which brings up another point - Atom is not a great text editor either because it is so UI laggy it slows down development.
Like how do I open a file? Ok cool. How do I close it? Do I need to explicitly close it? Ok.
Also, learning APIs for other peoples codebases/software is task of learning that isn't trivial too
I have a coworker like this.
Coworker: "Im going to instantiate an instance of this Class and assign it these values from one of its constructors"
Me: "cool - you made an object. go on..."
var asdf = "asdf";
vs var asdf = 'asdf';
I really haven't been doing any JS programming for quite a while now.But then they hire a new UX person, or the incumbent UX person gets bored - so they keep refactoring the interface to put out an image of "getting work done" or "adding features and enhancements".
Basically making work for themselves and refactoring an already fine interface that user's are familiar with and just introducing new headaches to users along the way.
Both the iPhone apps and the modern version of iTunes are an utter, over-designed mess. It felt like the core programming functionality was there, until some UX designer got a hold of the front end of those apps and decided to fubar it beyond recognition.
There is _Literally_ no way to just look at all music on your iPhone. You have to have it in playlists or add the songs you want to a playlist, or just shuffle all songs.
*Edit: No way to look at all iPhone songs while not using iTunes with your iPhone plugged into your PC.
On a serious note I was confused too. I guess it's the swiping left/right to read/answer that resembles Tinder
Sadly, people think "I have nothing to hide, so I don't care if the government/NSA monitors my internet usage/history/etc".
Personally, I think the terrorists have won in a small sense. TSA is a joke (American airport security), NSA monitors everything so nothing is really secure, backdoors are built into all devices, encryption across several companies is being questioned because "terrorists" use it (even though the Paris attacks communication were over SMS).
Edit: typos
As a YouTube maker, AdSense money is an absolute pittance (1000 views+ for $1 or less). Patreon is a great way to support these video makers.
"But you love doing it! You love this tech stuff!" Sorry. Not if I have a solution of the top of my head. 30$ of help please.
Another idea I had was maybe to just program in Rust. I'm not sure :)
eg:
dir
netstat -b
systeminfo
etcThey usually freak out thinking that I'm hacking them. I act like I am too.
It was more resource intensive than Visual Studio 2013 Community Edition lol.
