I always had heard that first 3dDone was Tron but that the first one to arrive to theaters was Star Trek, the wrath of Khan, I was told that the explosion of the Genesis was the first one full computer generated scene in films.
ghostDancer··on Single malt Scotch whisky targeted by United States tariffs
Canada buying and then selling them to the USA more expensive than direct but cheaper than with the penalty.

ghostDancer··on Report on forced organ harvesting in China
Candidates only talking about one means that they don't mind about human rights, that they are only doing these for , economical reasons, someone wants to wage a economical war with China that will cost USA lots of money, but some companies will get huge amounts of money and power, so first you declare them the evilest country in the world and then continue.

They did it with Afghanistan , later with Iraq.

OTOH the are silent about other places like SA or many other dictatorships in the world. Hypocrisy and blatant lies about human rights. And yes, the Chinese government is really fucked up. No one can deny that.

ghostDancer··on Report on forced organ harvesting in China
I'm not from the USA, so I can't vote, but IMHO if the candidate truly cares about human rights will condemn equally and publicly the crimes in China, Saudi Arabia or any other country , if it only talks about the Chinese or Iranian one, just when there's a big manipulation campaign against those countries I know that candidate is a liar and is scamming the voters who fall for it. Also it's the same card some US people play when they are told about the abuses of their government/businesses, hey look at Iran , look at China, ...
ghostDancer··on Use YouTube to improve your English pronunciation
I remember many years ago in Spain the most used book to learn English the first sentences were pretty much those and in one of the first lessons there was a sentence that became widely known: "My taylor is rich", it was synonym with studying English.
ghostDancer··on GM fungus can rapidly kill mosquitoes that spread malaria, study suggests
I hope so. Obviously I'm not an expert.
ghostDancer··on GM fungus can rapidly kill mosquitoes that spread malaria, study suggests
We have to take into account that with climate change the area where the mosquitoes live will probably be wider affecting more people so extending malaria to bigger populations. IMHO, can be wrong , that we have not made a lot against malaria because till now it affected only poor countries but from now on it will probably arrive to richer ones.
ghostDancer··on America is turning against facial-recognition software
Amen to that. And public opinion is easily manipulated. Create fear and people will give up their rights , if someone resists accuse them of being anti-freedom, anti-patriotic, against the free market, communist/socialist, helping terrorists, etc. Use the media which is owned by the same people politicians protect and in no time most of the population will comply
ghostDancer··on When Microsoft's eBook store closes, your books disappear too
I do the same with recipes, the ones I find interesting on the net I import them to a recipe manager (Gourmet) but when I'm going to use them I print them and keep the paper copy in a folder .
ghostDancer··on When Microsoft's eBook store closes, your books disappear too
I only consider the option for ebooks in linear reading ones, like novels. For non linear ones I don't, so cookbooks (cooking or any other subject) or manuals I can't use them , I need paper. And you're right don't even began talking if there's a diagram/image/map.
ghostDancer··on Article 13 gets legalized because Sweden pushed the wrong voting button
Absolutely agree, part of the problem is the way they do those things. It should be more clear what they are voting for, how they vote, and they should pay more attention, and that's the reason the vote can't be changed afterwards.
ghostDancer··on Article 13 gets legalized because Sweden pushed the wrong voting button
It's their job, they are really well paid for it.They messed it up(I'm being gentle) but they won't get any consequence for it but the rest of the EU will. They should be paying attention, they should resign immediately for incompetence.

ghostDancer··on China cracks down on religion, crosses burned at Christian churches
Exactly the same as most religions, fear of punishment if you don't obey and behave according to the rules of the government/book, one delivers punishment here and now and the other delivers eternal pain in hell. Both are mental slavery. Both are used to control the population by the powerful.
ghostDancer··on China cracks down on religion, crosses burned at Christian churches
Another kind of religion. No god but the same message , the rulers/bishops order and you obey.
