ghostDancer··on The Uber leak exposes the global war on workers
At those levels? Not many. And we're talking a company the is not profitable, what Uber is doing in any other market would be called dumping and it's illegal in most of them, and that without beginning with the semi slavery that promotes Uber.
ghostDancer··on Binance served crypto traders in Iran despite U.S. sanctions
If you're not going to USA/any other country and you don't have a VISA for that country But the airplane is forced to land that makes an involuntary illegal alien. The flight was forced to land, he knew he could not visit the USA
ghostDancer··on Binance served crypto traders in Iran despite U.S. sanctions
Thanks , I did not know that. I thought that every international airport had one.
ghostDancer··on Binance served crypto traders in Iran despite U.S. sanctions
In theory he probably would be in transit area, so outside of USA. We all know how good is USA respecting international treaties and human rights when it doesn't suit their economic interests.
ghostDancer··on Tron changed cinema, predicted the future of tech
The series was fantastic and much better than the movie IMHO. It's a pity it was cancelled after one season.
ghostDancer··on The Influence of Neuromancer on Cyberpunk
You can get it in a t-shirt probably. ;-)
ghostDancer··on Basque–Icelandic Pidgin
Till 2015 there was a law in Iceland that you could kill Basques on sight. https://fascinatingspain.com/legend-of-spain/legends-of-basq...
ghostDancer··on Technicolor Tokyo
If you like the style the subreddit https://www.reddit.com/r/neoncities/ while you find lots of photos of Japan , there are lot of photos from other places of the world and not only Asian cities. Most of them not as good as Liam Wong ones though.
ghostDancer··on I hate what video games have become
The new generations are being taught to not have anything but to have access to it, songs, games, movies, ... . They don't know anything else and the ubiquity of access to everything makes them think it will always be there. I see it with my son and friends. And when I try to explain them they look at me like an old man shouting at the clouds (it's almost literal). When I try to explain my son that is better to buy buy, even if it's more expensive, the physical copy of a game instead of the digital copy he understands it but can't see the problem, I guess till he lose something won't realize.
ghostDancer··on UK.gov to make adults give credit card details for access to Facebook or TikTok
Thank you. I have not found one of these before. Only some that asked me to log in but no one with these restrictions , even if I used Google pay in the past, many years ago, is asking me for a credit card after logging in.

Wow.Thank you. I have not found one of these before. Only some that asked me to log in but no one with these restrictions , even if I used Google pay in the past, many years ago, is asking me for a credit card after logging in.
ghostDancer··on UK.gov to make adults give credit card details for access to Facebook or TikTok
Sorry, which videos? I mean it really, I'm from EU and have never found one. To watch some videos I have to login but have never ever asked me for a credit card that I recall. I'd like to know.
ghostDancer··on A guide to building Lego Classic Town cars
Yes I know , but nowadays looks like everything is a themed set, and I understand that is the market, We see what is has more demand and sells better and secondly I'm not the child that used to play with lego, which is probably the main reason. :-(
ghostDancer··on Novak Djokovic's Visa Cancelled by Australian Minister for Immigration
His visa was cancelled because they found inconsistencies (lies). He outright lied filling the papers, any other person would have been kicked out without a doubt. He later blamed his assistants for it. In the same case you would be in jail but as is a famous person he gets an special treatment. He brought it on himself. He thought he could get away with it but it looks like it wasn't the right moment. The funny thing is all the people defending him like he's a freedom fighter when he's just a spoiled brat. and now let's see France and USA.
ghostDancer··on A guide to building Lego Classic Town cars
I think I was afraid to admit it.
ghostDancer··on A guide to building Lego Classic Town cars
Nowadays looks more like you buy a set to follow the instructions and build it to stay on the shelf while the old sets were more like build what you can and want and play with it but it might be just our age.
ghostDancer··on Novak Djokovic's Visa Cancelled by Australian Minister for Immigration
Also if We believe that He got it in December, that is probably a lie to not get the vaccine and enter Australia.
ghostDancer··on Novak Djokovic's Visa Cancelled by Australian Minister for Immigration
The thing is that tobacco deaths are usually from several years of use. I don't think most of the dead people who died from tobacco have begin smoking this last two years meanwhile covid killing is quite faster.
ghostDancer··on Novak Djokovic's Visa Cancelled by Australian Minister for Immigration
When a clothes code is required in a club and you don't wear they don't let you enter , Djokovic knew the rules but lied and tried to go over them. But as he is famous you want us to let him in. I think that all the people that want to kiss Djokovic ass are free to do it but not everybody wants.
ghostDancer··on Fans pour funding into ‘The Chosen’
Which is pretty close to some christian extremists.
ghostDancer··on What is AT&T doing at 1111340002?
You may know there is one but you still don't know how to open/use it.
ghostDancer··on David Zucker reflects on "Airplane!" in 2021
I recently watched it with my 15 years old son. He laughed a lot and at the same he was surprised how they dare to make some of the jokes, he thought some were really wild.
ghostDancer··on Plan 9 Desktop Guide
First time about TAO, was in EDGE magazine in the early 90s IIRC about their OS TAOS sounded something from the future , could run on different processor even over a network, they had it running on a machine using transputers. It looked like sci-fi to me.
ghostDancer··on Give Amazon and Facebook a Seat at the United Nations
We are living in the beginning of a cyberpunk dystopia.
ghostDancer··on The code worked differently when the moon was full
Being inside a building you can use Abu Simbel bug too.
ghostDancer··on The Science of the Benefits of Religion
That line of thinking is dangerous, you can assume that televangelists are scammers because they are christians or that priests that abuse children are abusers because they are christians. and not, they are because they are bad people. Stalin/Mao/etc .. were bad people and that's the reason they did what they did not because they were atheists or communists, when a priest abuses a child does it's because he's a bad person not because he's a christian.
ghostDancer··on The Science of the Benefits of Religion
Communists is not equal to atheists , in fact most of the atheists I know are not communists. Blaming to atheists the crimes committed in name of communism is like saying that as Hitler admired christianism all his crimes should be blamed on christians . And right the ones trying to impose their beliefs, and deny rights to others, in Europe and USA are the followers of some of the Abrahamic religions.
ghostDancer··on EU plans to force OEMs to use a common charger for all phones

ghostDancer··on Ask HN: I hate vertical scrolling. How can I paginate the web?
Depends on the size but if it's big, I tend to convert them into epub/mobi to read on a ebook.
