Also, they studied one company

> Working with proprietary data from a Fortune 500 company, we are able to shed light on the underlying reasons for these labor market changes.

So, yea, going to call BS. Most of their work is on the effect of remote work within a single company and they are tacking on AI as it is topical.

ggiigg··on Google broke reCAPTCHA for de-googled Android users
Felt same way about GrapheneOS but a few friends set it up so i gave it a try. It is easy to install and use. As evidence, I gave my 70 year old father one and he loves it.
ggiigg··on Florida judge rules red light camera tickets are unconstitutional
Privacy protections in US are horrid compared to Germany. Grounded in reality, not going to happen uniformly in all states.

Also, I bike often and driver right turn on green without looking has nearly gotten me a few times. Dont get me started on lack of bicycle infra in most us cities :0

> California's new speed camera pilot (AB 645) explicitly solves for this.

Your mixing up states. California's law from above comment is NOT about running red lights.

ggiigg··on Florida judge rules red light camera tickets are unconstitutional
Yea, I think the chance of death will encourage them not to run every red light making mass surveillance unnecessary. The money is a noop for the rich in thus case.
ggiigg··on Florida judge rules red light camera tickets are unconstitutional
I would argue such enforcement does not need automation and such automation is often for revenue generation vs saftey focused.

Also, I am a bit biased here after working at flock.

ggiigg··on Florida judge rules red light camera tickets are unconstitutional
Yea, that would be great then I can completely ignore them as I am not poor.

It just turns speeding into something you can buy.

ggiigg··on Nvidia Stock Crash Prediction
Google is a direct competitor to many LARGE buyers of GPUs and therefore a non starter from a business perspective. In addition, many companies cannot single source due to risk considerations. Hardware is different because buying GPUs is a capital investment. You own the asset and revisit the supplier only at the next refresh cycle, not continuously as with rented compute.
ggiigg··on What happened to WebAssembly
They will not. E.g WordPress and Dajango are 20 years old and still very popular. People don't just jump to hype because hacker news does.
