gexaha··on Learning about Innovation from Half a Century of Conway's Game of Life
thanks; interesting note in the end about Turing morphogenesis
gexaha··on NeuralSVG: An Implicit Representation for Text-to-Vector Generation
microtonal midi would be super awesome
gexaha··on Show HN: I made a web app to bring children's drawings to life
I found their API quite expensive, I wonder how you go about it.
gexaha··on Show HN: Trellis 3D AI – Turn any image into 3D assets using AI
From what I understand, you are not the author of the original paper, and you just took and copied everything from the original authors, even the website and the gradio demo?
gexaha··on 20 years of Google Scholar
The most fun fact is that it still exists!
gexaha··on Show HN: Franzelio – Draw lines, make music, share your instrument
also super cool that it's microtonal, love it!
gexaha··on Show HN: Franzelio – Draw lines, make music, share your instrument
cool, needs some slight noise/randomization in the trajectories/physics

UPD: okay, toggle lines is game-changer here, very nice!

gexaha··on alphaXiv: Open research discussion on top of arXiv
> You have multiple scenarios where papers can be published with authors using email addresses which they lose access to.

Btw, why is it considered normal? I think it would be much better to mention an e-mail, to which you will have (more-or-less) permament access.

gexaha··on Show HN: I made a puzzle game that gently introduces my favorite math mysteries
Nice puzzle, congrats! I also like this part of maths, and there's a related concept of Snark graphs.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snark_(graph_theory)

First is that "One of the equivalent forms of the four color theorem is that every snark is a non-planar graph". Second, is as strengthened form of the four color theorem: "every snark has the Petersen graph as a minor", which is kind of proven (already 25 years ago), but still lacks 1 paper: https://thomas.math.gatech.edu/FC/generalize.html https://math.stackexchange.com/questions/3692582/what-is-the...

And another related concept is of nowhere-zero flows, and even more stronger conjecture that "every bridgeless graph with no Petersen minor has a nowhere zero 4-flow". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nowhere-zero_flow

That's all nice, the problem is though that the market is in decline right now

gexaha··on Trap spaces of Boolean networks are conflict-free siphons of their Petri net [pdf]
why is it interesting?
gexaha··on Top AIs still fail IQ tests
I'm sure by the end of 2024 we'll see huge advances in visual capabilities of chatgpt and other LLMs/VLMs, and this article will be irrelevant/outdated very soon.
gexaha··on Wintergatan Marble Machine (2016) [video]
was there any other music done except for this track?
gexaha··on Apple has not fixed the macOS audio left/right balance bug for nearly 10 years
Wow, I always thought that it could be just my personal hearing issues, never could properly google the issue
gexaha··on Launch HN: AgentHub (YC W24) – A no-code automation platform

gexaha··on Clanging
Wow, looks very much like Kenji Siratori's writings
gexaha··on Quantum Computer Music
there also exist a more scientific term for such practice - "sonification"
gexaha··on TuneNN: A transformer-based network model for pitch detection
That's actually not true, perceived pitch can be different from fundamental frequency, because of psychoacoustics. E. g. you can have "missing fundamental" - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Missing_fundamental - or other effects like "sum and difference tones", which are quite popular in spectralism / spectral music
gexaha··on Turing awardees republished key methods and ideas without credit
I mean, his co-authors, or colleagues at IDSIA
gexaha··on Turing awardees republished key methods and ideas without credit
I wonder what Schmidhuber colleagues think of all of this.
gexaha··on Gilles Deleuze – What is Philosophy? [audio]
yeah, sorry for not being more specific, I meant "process philosophy"
gexaha··on Ask HN: What apps have you created for your own use?
I created a small python library, a visual task-tracker with showing dependencies between tasks. You can create tasks either as Python objects, or as markdown files.
gexaha··on Gilles Deleuze – What is Philosophy? [audio]
Do you consider Whitehead's philosophy also vacuous?
gexaha··on A slightly longer Lean 4 proof tour
Not quite, this blogpost is about a different problem
gexaha··on Tcherepnin: Basic Elements of My Musical Language
Why do you find it interesting?
gexaha··on Positive Geometries and Amplitudes [pdf]
Thanks! I saw a couple of his lectures on YouTube, and it's very difficult to understand, whether it is just marketing, or there is some progress going on in the topic
gexaha··on Positive Geometries and Amplitudes [pdf]
Has there been any progress in the last 10 years since the discovery of amplituhedron?
gexaha··on Probabilistic Machine Learning: Advanced Topics
I think "Understanding Deep Learning" is very nice - https://udlbook.github.io/udlbook/ (an covers almost all topics, it has maybe just a couple of omissions, such as Multimodal Learning, NERFs and Time Series Prediction)
