We’re off to a great start, growing profitably at 15% per month with closed deals from HomeAway, Match.com and other large brands. And we recently closed a SEED round so we can beef up our engineering team and grow even faster. As one of our first engineering hires, you’ll build our company and products from the ground up.
Our front-end runs on PHP and JavaScript (heavy jQuery). We’re transitioning our backend from PHP to Ruby. Our knowledge graph runs on Neo4J. Our analytics are stored in MySQL and we use d3.js and HighCharts for reporting. And we have a tendency to code the hard stuff (web scraper and natural language parser) in Perl.
Positions:
We're looking to hire 4+ junior and mid-level software engineers. We prefer generalists who can focus on one of our technologies:
1) Social Messaging * Allow our staff to deploy messages on major social channels * Learn from the results of our messaging using powerful analytics
2) Knowledge Graph * Populate the graph using web scraping and natural language processing * Give users great tools for curating the graph
3) Social Intelligence * Listen to social networks, analyze the data and visualize keywords, trends and leads

How dare those investors demand a return on their investment!!
Otherwise your employer has no reason to give you a raise. If they don't think you're a risk of taking another job why would they voluntarily give you a large raise and cut into their margins?
Side note: Since when is $6.1M a seed round?
Apple's myriad of logins and passwords is so frustrating to me. I had an iTunes ID for years and can't use it for anything anymore because it is not an email address. It is such a pain in the ass to do anything. I have two apple ids, an icloud account and a game center account.
The edge cases (10% of users who would use multiple icloud/gamecenter accounts) are making things a huge pain in the ass for 90% of users who are the only person that uses their iphone for app downloads, icloud, music and game center.
And since I can't edit: "Crowd-sourced shipping" has been done. http://www.uship.com in Austin has been doing this for 5+ years.
That being said, I loved working with the 32KB limit and optimizing every single byte out of my code. You got to learn all of the tricks like "XOR A" = 1 byte vs "LD A,0" = 2 bytes. However, some things sucked, like having to frequently write new sprite routines or tilemap scroller routines. I even ended up writing a logo style scripting language to handle animations in a RPG just to save a few KB.
Yes, this is clearly the 3% case for Knuth's quote, "... 97% of the time: premature optimization is the root of all evil"
Still, it's impressive to do anything like Portal on the calculator. Glad that someone picked it up, even if the headlines are sensational.
