georg-stone··on Poll: Rust or Zig?
Curiosity.
georg-stone··on Poll: What is your preferred Search Engine?
Yep, none of the search engines are good at that. You might be able to configure your browser to automatically wrap your query behind quotes by using /search?q="%s".
georg-stone··on Poll: What is your preferred Search Engine?
I just added it.
georg-stone··on Poll: What is your preferred Search Engine?
Nice! I use Brave because it's mostly better at finding good results but almost exclusively use bangs.
georg-stone··on Poll: What is your preferred Search Engine?
I just added Perplexity
georg-stone··on Poll: What is your preferred Search Engine?
I just added it.
georg-stone··on Tailwind CSS v4.0
tailwindcolor.com is good for that
georg-stone··on Show HN: I completed shipping my desktop app
Wow! The UI looks stunning, looks very intuitive, and seems like you've spent a lot of time on this. Great job!
georg-stone··on Show HN: Give feedback on my mini search engine. There's still work to do
- DuckDuckGo bangs - https://duckduckgo.com/bangs - Instead of using prefixes, you could even use AI to detect the user intent (calculations, weather, etc) - Use IP address if the user doesn't type a location for weather
georg-stone··on Show HN: Give feedback on my mini search engine. There's still work to do
Cool project! Does this use AI? My suggestions would be to make the results go faster, add opensearch to this, and improve the UI. If you haven't already, I'd recommend open-sourcing this so everyone can contribute.
georg-stone··on Show HN: Convert podcasts to newsletters with Gemini (FREE)
Add ChatGPT support with their models
georg-stone··on NPM is down. 404 on every package
Yeah, this is bad. I tried to deploy a new update to my website, and it didn't work. I thought my computer was broken when it said `tailwindcss` wasn't in the registry.
georg-stone··on Ask HN: How do Chrome extension developers reach out to users for feedback?
For mine, I used a combination of a feature suggesting form (which worked well, it links to GitHub discussions) and an uninstall form.
georg-stone··on Show HN: Minimal, customizable new tab for Chrome/Firefox
Really? You can do that? How?
georg-stone··on Show HN: Minimal, customizable new tab for Chrome/Firefox
For the first time, it can take a while because it needs to cache the data url of an image for offline usage. After that, it should load faster. If you have any performance issues, please open a GitHub issue
georg-stone··on Ask HN: What browser do you use?
I don't have enough karma to create a poll.
georg-stone··on Show HN: Minimal, customizable new tab for Chrome/Firefox
Good idea! I tried setting up an integration with TickTick, but their API is jank, so I gave up. I will try Todoist soon and maybe Things.
georg-stone··on Show HN: Minimal, customizable new tab for Chrome/Firefox
Thanks so much for the feedback! I have just added that to the list!
georg-stone··on Show HN: Minimal, customizable new tab for Chrome/Firefox

georg-stone··on Show HN: Minimal, customizable new tab for Chrome/Firefox
Lots of orgs use Replit, which is just a cloud IDE anyways
georg-stone··on Show HN: Minimal, customizable new tab for Chrome/Firefox
It's just some inspiration I can have when typing in my URL bar I guess
georg-stone··on Show HN: Minimal, customizable new tab for Chrome/Firefox
After some research, it doesn't seem like Firefox supports it.
georg-stone··on Show HN: Minimal, customizable new tab for Chrome/Firefox
I added it! Thanks so much for your feedback!
georg-stone··on Bluesky is breaking the rules in the EU
They just have to fine every tech company lol
georg-stone··on Show HN: Minimal, customizable new tab for Chrome/Firefox
I agree! "Minimalistic" would probably have been a better choice for this project.
georg-stone··on Show HN: Minimal, customizable new tab for Chrome/Firefox
Currently, you can't. Chrome doesn't have a built-in API for getting these, but you can have a bookmarks widget.
georg-stone··on Show HN: Minimal, customizable new tab for Chrome/Firefox
When saying pinned tabs, you mean shortcuts, right?

I have added these suggestions to the to-do list and should come out in the next update!

georg-stone··on Show HN: It took me 5() months to build a Plausible alternative
I signed up for an account and it seems you are showing a code snippet with an API key for client-side code. How do you handle authorization? Can anybody use up my 50k events if they steal the key?
georg-stone··on Show HN: It took me 5() months to build a Plausible alternative
I would love to check out the website, but it says the site can't be reached. Sounds promising though!
georg-stone··on Ask HN: Is write access to hard drives less powerful than read access?
I mean having the ability to write the hard drive, but not be able to read it, and vice-versa.
