ganeshkrishnan··on Google has a search ban on President Donald Trump
Type in "Pandora Papers" and then "Zelen.." it stops autocomplete.

It does complete with a weird spelling of Zelensky or with "Ukraine President" but NOT with either Volodymyr or Zelensky.

No such issues with Bing.

ganeshkrishnan··on How much money we can raise for transparently idiotic startups?
solutions and value inherently become capitalistic. Can you quantify what you mean by "provided value"?
ganeshkrishnan··on StreamVC: Real-Time Low-Latency Voice Conversion
I had couple of usecases for this. One was one of my very young cousin usually has voice chat in his gaming sessions and I wanted to anonymize it.

The second was we got a very enthusiastic video spokesperson but unfortunately she has a very thick non-american accent and this can help us alleviate it.

ganeshkrishnan··on NuExtract: A LLM for Structured Extraction
are there any examples on how this works?
ganeshkrishnan··on [dead]
Every past American war has to be criticized. Every past American president has to be criticized. HOWEVER the current war and the current president is always sacrosanct. We are a democracy but war is always pinned on one person; the past rogue democrat/republican president.

All the news articles about US meddling in Ukraine are still online but all wikipedia articles have been "speedy deleted"

"It's not Russia that's pushed Ukraine to the brink of war"

https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2014/apr/30/russia...

"Funded and organised by the US government, deploying US consultancies, pollsters, diplomats, the two big American parties and US non-government organisations"

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2004/nov/26/ukraine.usa

ganeshkrishnan··on ID verification service for TikTok, Uber, X exposed driver licenses
>Oh wow didn’t know that stripe has Israeli ties.

you misunderstood OP. He meant the previous authenticator for X was autotix which was Israeli and then they switched to Stripe which is NOT.

ganeshkrishnan··on Waymo One is now open to everyone in San Francisco
"the algorithm has decided that the subject has likely defecated with 63% probability and will be ejected in t-5 minutes.

Subject has no recourse to appeal and is banned from life including his ancestors and spawns"

ganeshkrishnan··on Study identifies first drug therapy for sleep apnea
The internet is now made up of 35% staged videos, 35% ads and the rest are just AI generated seo landfill trash
ganeshkrishnan··on Xi, Putin Score Wins as More Asia Leaders Aim to Join BRICS
> See the illegal police stations[0] they have setup across the world.

Started by >According to Matt Schrader, writing for the Jamestown Foundation, "overseas Chinese service stations"

> Central Intelligence Agency Director William J. Casey helped back the formation of the Jamestown Foundation

Directly written by the CIA, you dont even have to jump hoops.

ganeshkrishnan··on Electricity prices in France turn negative as renewable energy floods the grid
Germany already buys electricity from France. The cost mentioned above are the subsidized charges by the EDF to the french government.

Germans would get the full cost which is much higher than the quoted price here. Besides nuclear power is not flexible enough to amp it up and down according to demand (unlike coal or petrocarbon industries).

ganeshkrishnan··on Electricity prices in France turn negative as renewable energy floods the grid
This was very surprising and positive. I had expected pain for the electricity market in France since EDF "lost" the uranium mines in Niger and replaced it by shipping uranium from canada/australia.

So it looks like solar and wind have more than compensated for the nuclear power shortages.

The olympic games will put this news to test and I guess we will find out soon if this news is indeed true.

ganeshkrishnan··on DJI ban passes the House and moves on to the Senate
I always had sideloaded fly app for mini 2. You can get it directly on the dji website
ganeshkrishnan··on DJI ban passes the House and moves on to the Senate
US is spiralling down and I feel like I am in a Truman Show with egregious presidential behaviours, dragging the world into wars which it doesn't need, banning chips, even sanctioning open source (RISC) software.

And this is further making the rest of the world enraged, china more so. Today they released Open source Deep Seek which beats GPT 4o in coding problems.

The train has left the station and the US is stuck. On the wrong platform. With no ticket.

ganeshkrishnan··on DJI ban passes the House and moves on to the Senate
which drone do you have? there is a DJI fly app version that you have to sideload. The current ones on playstore are just fine
ganeshkrishnan··on $2.4M Texas home listing boasts built-in 5,786 sq ft data center
Its a bit shocking that this was listed for less than $1M in 2019 (https://images1.loopnet.com/d2/2Vrc0SwjmdZElIikDsbDegOdsX10L...) .

In less than 5 years, price has more than doubled or roughly 25% each year.

Apparently this was an AT&T data center.

ganeshkrishnan··on Maintaining large-scale AI capacity at Meta
>That's enough to make Nvidia a multi trillion dollar company.

There are tons of chip companies breathing down it's neck. AMD dropped the ball but Huawei Ascend chips are already making a dent and NVIDIA had to drop prices in China. Rest of the industry will start eating into NVIDIA as the market cap grows.

ganeshkrishnan··on Pentagon ran secret anti-vax campaign to undermine China during pandemic
Look at that guy's historical comments. All his comments are pro war in Israel and Ukraine. He is the glowie the newspaper is talking about. All of his comments are bone chilling.
ganeshkrishnan··on Pentagon ran secret anti-vax campaign to undermine China during pandemic
No but you need propaganda to push NATO borders on Russia, arm a coup, start a civil unrest, fund a war, destroy a peace treaty (Turkey 2022) and then drip feed arms to destroy two countries at same time.

Even in a thread about sick US propaganda, the apologists find an excuse for war.

ganeshkrishnan··on Pentagon ran secret anti-vax campaign to undermine China during pandemic
That's because the people rejected the Disinformation Governance Board. Imagine if this board was active. None of these would have happened and we would have had a happy peaceful life with our benevolent government watching us over.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disinformation_Governance_Boar...

ganeshkrishnan··on Pentagon ran secret anti-vax campaign to undermine China during pandemic
This is nowhere near the top. If I had to hazard a guess, the rabid propaganda and pushing of the ukraine war is near the top.
ganeshkrishnan··on Pentagon ran secret anti-vax campaign to undermine China during pandemic
Reddit employed NATO employees at high level position. Almost all of the main subreddits are active propaganda channels. I am constantly bewildered at the amount of Zelensky/NATO photos on innocuous subreddits like damnthatsinteresting or pics.

https://www.reddit.com/r/stupidpol/comments/wdrirf/reddit_is...

It's outright depressing even casually scrolling through reddit these days with blatant ads and propaganda smothering you.

ganeshkrishnan··on Third-country imports apply pressure amidst German aluminium production decline
>High energy costs

"Someone" blew up their nordstream and their ability to have on-demand natural gas which is critical for smelting Aluminum. Maybe Germany should investigate who blew up their critical infrastructure but asking scary questions results in scary answers.

ganeshkrishnan··on Russia-linked network uses AI to rewrite real news stories
Can we please not have these trash propaganda stories flooding HN? If I wanted to have propaganda shoved down my throat, I will be browsing reddit.

ChatGpt/OpenAi will not take a conservative slant to an article and certainly not with an egregious prompt like the one provided.

ganeshkrishnan··on VCs aren’t your friends
He was even featured on the Forbes under 30!
ganeshkrishnan··on VCs aren’t your friends
I have 70 trillion people on the waiting list. It doesn't mean anything. Only people that pay for your product matter
ganeshkrishnan··on Cubic millimetre of brain mapped at nanoscale resolution
>The electrical signals in brain are chemical reactions, not conductivity like a metal wire.

Nerve signals are both chemical reactions and electrical impulses like metal wire. Electrical impulses are sent along the fat layer by ions Potassium , Calcium, Sodium etc.

Twitch responses are actually done in spinal cord. The signals are short circuited all along the spine and return back to muscle without touching the brain ever.

ganeshkrishnan··on Do you need a dentist visit every 6 months? That filling? The data is weak
Almost the same exact situation. Broke my premolar in a swimming pool accident when I was teen and forgot about it. Turned 25 and every dentist wanted an implant saying my face will deform, jaw will deform in couple of years etc.

More than 15 years have passed and my jaw line is better than ever.

In canada, if the dentist find out you have private health insurance its a free for all loot. They even insist of x-ray every 6 months. Very infuriating.

ganeshkrishnan··on Investors won't give you the real reason they are passing on your startup
And one of the absolutely solid reasons why I am against investors providing a reason why they turned you down. Most of the time its a fake reason leaving the startups to drop everything and fix this "problem" that never even existed in the first place.
ganeshkrishnan··on Buffett is hoarding $188B in cash in short term Tbills collecting 5.4%
5.4% is a solid return. Given that the treasury department has initiated treasury buybacks, it's a solid guarantee that rates are not going anytime lower according to their own calculations perhaps even throwing in the towel about trying to fight inflation.

S&P has overshot even the most optimistic projects of 2023 by over 15(?)% and Apple is only going up due to buybacks.

No wonder Buffett is selling his apple shares and putting them into T bills and notes.

ganeshkrishnan··on Bangladesh built a tech park for 100k workers. Now it's a ghost town
Power was missing for 12 days for certain sections of it : https://www.tbsnews.net/bangladesh/energy/bangabandhu-hi-tec...

Across the border in West Bengal, a similar concept in Salt Lake City has done relatively well https://www.flickr.com/photos/debashissaha/8637092181/in/pho...

tbf, Salt Lake is the only place in east india with mncs like IBM, Samsung etc

As long as there is road/rail infrastructure and cheap housing close by, tech workers will flock. The foundation need to be setup first and I guess that's what was missing here.
