gamzer··on Pareidoloop: Faces generated at random
I wondered if the author really expected me to watch this for the rest of my life. Then I switched from my mobile phone to my notebook and noticed a "slight" speed-up.

One could argue that an upvote is more often about agreement than a downvote is about disagreement.
gamzer··on Introducing Mozilla Persona, An Identity System for the Web
This comment sounds so innocent but it really started me thinking. When should one call things simply by their name and when should one create a new name?

Would Twitter be the same if it was for short text messages? Or are Tweets so different that they deserve their own name?

If their hiring is what?

Can anyone name simple alternatives to Juggernaut that also free the developer from having to think about browser support?
gamzer··on Show HN: Create a portfolio of the mobile apps you've built
Interesting idea!

Not sure why but I have only read your main headline when I looked at the page for the third time. My attention was completely drawn to anything below that blue-black bar. It has almost camouflage-like properties.

In the featured portfolio all tooltip app names are "App Name".

gamzer··on New Dropbox Pro plans
Wasn't the only question asked:

> Why would you announce new prices prior to the new price page launching?

Which to me is still unanswered but very interesting.

gamzer··on Chilean scientists discover molecule that kills bacteria that cause cavities
An exceptional book about cavities and health in general:

gamzer··on Pricing psychology - 33% more beats 33% off
Sounds like another advantage of the metric system to me. Comparing prices per 100g, per 1kg and per 1l is doable.
gamzer··on Consistency
Cannot read the article as the navigation is floating above the text on my Android phone. At least this is somewhat consistent as it happens quite often.
gamzer··on Rich Hickey: Simple Made Easy
Tip: If the video and the slides don't fit on your widescreen display, shrink your browser window horizontally.
gamzer··on You're not the CEO - You're the Fucking Janitor
When you finished being the janitor, you could be the web developer for a moment and fix the navigation which floats above the text of the article on my Android phone when zoomed in via double tap.
gamzer··on Bringhurst's The Elements of Typography (for the web)
After resizing the browser window (tiling window manager...), the starting positions of paragraphs can move quite far. This makes it difficult for me to orientate myself in the text.

Also, one must pay attention to indicate new paragraphs that happen to fall between columns. Without indenting each paragraph, I'm not sure how to make those clear.

gamzer··on How to overcome resistance to work
Social media bar floating above the article's text on my Android phone.

I cannot remember just how many articles I did not read because of this. Guessing one word per line lowers my reading enjoyment.
