I don't know the motivation behind the people developing Go, but I found it very easy and convenient to work with it, almost as easy as with Python sometimes, which is mind-blowing IMO given the static, compiled, strict, etc. nature of Go. So again, don't know whether the guys behind the language were motivated by personal productivity, but they have definitely achieved it.
Though I didn't really try Lisp other than quick tutorials, so I can't make a comparison with that.
Why would anyone do this? What's wrong with func, function, def, etc. ?
Why? so they can argue will fellow core devs?
> For this _particular_ feature, it's a "rampant layering violation" -- translucent windows have been available in compositing window managers (Compiz, and whatever that thing that KDE uses) for at least three or four years.
NOPE. Setting the transparency by compiz would make the whole window transparent, including the text, which makes the transparency useless. You need the background to be (semi) transparent, and the text to be fully opaque. This is a non-solution.
In fact I find zsh much easier for beginners and people who don't master the arcane intricacies of *nix.
"[your friend] likes Salitos!"
"[the same friend] likes Salitos!"
... a week later "[your friend] likes Salitos!"
"Man, I guess he really likes Salitos!". I've asked him about it, and it seems he barely remembered liking their page. So yea, IMO it's time for a new facebook"I don't like Amazon lens about Ubuntu" -- Response from fellow Ubuntu user: "Yea, this sucks, I think I'm not going to use Ubuntu anymore"
I don't like Amazon lens either (there isn't even an Amazon.ro so it's mostly unusable for me), but they have to make money somehow.
