g_delgado14··on TigerBeetle Core System Architecture: Deconstructing Performance Engineering
Is it just me or does it not seem like this whole article was llm generated?

The two "sources" are fake links that lead to 404s

g_delgado14··on 1worldflag: A blue dot on a transparent background
White flags are commonly associated with defeat in battle. Probably not the vibe one wants.
g_delgado14··on Appearing productive in the workplace
How do you know this person isn’t at least somewhat well versed in the related fields? For all we know they have a double major?
g_delgado14··on iPhone 17e
curious, did changing the battery make the phone faster under the latest OS?

If find that after the upgrade to the latest iOS my 13 mini has been struggling with framerate and just overall feeling laggy.

no one knows what it means, but it's provocative!!
g_delgado14··on Danish pension fund divesting US Treasuries
would you call annexing greenland or invading venezuela passive?
g_delgado14··on Danish pension fund divesting US Treasuries
> A new civil war that drives the US to fragment into several independent regions over the course of the next ~five years would kind of be the best scenario from a global perspective.

The US isn't going to passively give up its hold on the world order. You don't think this would trigger a world war?

And if / when the US does topple (whether in 10 years or in 1000 years), at the moment it looks like the only viable next leaders in the world order are autocratic dictatorships.

How is this a best scenario from a global perspective?

g_delgado14··on Roo or Cline? We're building a superset
The same could be said of corporations who aren’t required to report pollution and thus exploit because it’s legal. Morality isn’t encoded in most agreements.
g_delgado14··on Donald Knuth's 2024 Christmas Lecture: Strong and Weak Components [video]
It's public knowledge that he's a prof at stanford and publicly available directories can lead you to his office. Not to mention that he's famous enough that this is almost certainly not the first time someone shares a photo like this.

If it was a photo of his home I'd understand but this is essentially public knowledge.

g_delgado14··on "We're building a new static type checker for Python"
let him coooook
g_delgado14··on Blogging Like a Hacker (2008)
I am no expert, but I am in the process of transitioning over to NextJS. Reason being it's quite opinionated on how to structure your app / blog and you can produce a completely static website with it - not to mention that there is a very large community to learn and lean on if you get stuck.
g_delgado14··on Wage suppression – not stagnation – is costing workers $10 an hour (2021)
Increasing wages is itself inflationary. If the costs of a company increase then so too do the price of their product or service. I’m not disagreeing that we shouldn’t increase wages, but I just want to point out that wages and inflation are correlated.
g_delgado14··on Diamonds are losing their allure
As a latino I can confidently say that diamond engagement rings are extremely coveted in latin america
g_delgado14··on How to get ChatGPT to stop apologizing?
It's just a straight-up amazing burn
g_delgado14··on Become Ungoogleable
The majority of the world is still using Google to search the web [0], including high school students (let's also think about high school students outside of North America).

Same question here - what about something like AppEngine (or Elastic Beanstalk)?
g_delgado14··on Open source licenses need to leave the 1980s and evolve to deal with AI
If you host your code on GitHub and the like, then your code is already being read by a centralized mega-corp.

Wouldn't something like TopTal or other contractor marketplaces work for you?
g_delgado14··on Bun 0.6
As if bun isn't experimental
g_delgado14··on A detailed comparison of REST and gRPC
This isn't 100% true - unless you're using a json-schema --> types package then there's a risk of your documentation not aligning with your types.
g_delgado14··on OpenAI’s CEO says the age of giant AI models is already over
IIRC Altman has no financial stake in the success or failure of OpenAI to prevent these sorts of conflicts of interests between OpenAI and society as a whole
g_delgado14··on Show HN: Document Q&A with GPT: web, .pdf, .docx, etc.
Interesting ... It responded to a question with "I don't know".

Here's the full text in reverse-chronological order:

g_delgado14··on Ask HN: AI “white mirror” – what are some inspiring future visions you've seen?
Maybe this sounds a bit sad, but I'm personally super excited for when something like copilot turns into a full-on coversational code friend / assistant.

I see it being super productive to always be pair programming with an AI, and not have to type every command out... or better yet, that it provides suggestions without me needing to prompt it to do so, thereby giving this feeling that I'm just hanging out with someone and doing a more traditional pairing session

g_delgado14··on AI Generated Seinfeld banned on Twitch for transphobic jokes
Dave Chappelle is a master of this. He tells jokes while also making commentary on taboo subjects. Through his jokes, he allows us to open a dialogue about something important that too-often is left untouched.

In this case; this AI is not really trying to convey anything meaningful. It's just regurgitating distasteful jokes that hurt people that are currently going through a tough time.

g_delgado14··on Show HN: FIFA Interactive Bracket (World Cup)
OP is trying to just share something cool and fun, and now you come here making it political.

Chill out. Obviously worker solidarity is very important - you say it as if OP didn't already know that. There's a time and a place for this sort of stuff and this isn't it.
