funerr··on Ask HN: Open-Source Legal Documents?
Looks good, thanks!
funerr··on Ask HN: Open-Source Legal Documents?
This.
funerr··on Open Assistant: Conversational AI for Everyone
Is there a way to donate to this project?
funerr··on DataDog asked OpenTelemetry contributor to kill pull request
Here is where it started to go downhill: https://github.com/open-telemetry/opentelemetry-collector-co...
funerr··on Ask HN: What are you working on this year?
I really like your idea. Might I suggest monetizing it via a marketplace approach? You completely release your product for free as an Open-source offering. Then you create a hosted marketplace for plugins where you take a commission for each purchase there. (I've written a bit about it on my newsletter https://unzip.dev/0x00d-open-source-business-models/#forecas... - last point)
funerr··on Heroku Free Alternatives
Shameless plug, I created my own awesome list that covers many of these providers - I curated products that developers would like:

I might add the limits too - a cool idea.

funerr··on Ask HN: How to validate a startup idea whilst employed?
Create a community/audience around the area you want to build. No one can tell you not to do it, there is no tax on it, and you can leverage it when you do have a concrete MVP.
funerr··on I Got Banned for Life from Airbnb (2018)
I'm quite stunned as a regular AirB&B user that the team isn't responding to this here. It makes me question if I should continue to use the service.
funerr··on Ask HN: How does HN maintain high quality still?
Is there an in depth explanation of it? I think other communities might also benefit from learning how to do so (assuming the information won't harm this community).
funerr··on Ask HN: How does HN maintain high quality still?
Yes, but it still doesn't explain bad actors.
funerr··on Typeguard
When would you do the switch to mypy and why?
funerr··on Ask HN: What is your digital-nomad equipment?
LOL, I'm keeping this.
funerr··on Ask HN: What is your digital-nomad equipment?
Wow this is amazing, I'll take notes. Thanks!
funerr··on Ask HN: What is your digital-nomad equipment?
Yeah I'll try the last point! sounds smart.
funerr··on Ask HN: What hyper-focused industry newsletters do you enjoy?
Thanks! don't hesitate to dm me if you have any suggestion or question :)
funerr··on StarBook 14-inch
This is also a great idea when traveling!
funerr··on Ask HN: What hyper-focused industry newsletters do you enjoy?
Thanks! These types of comments make my day! P.S. Don't worry about the content being too long and frequent. I do this because it is fun, the moment it doesn't feel that way I don't want to continue. So, I want to take my time researching a concept and give myself room to edit it - which takes a minimum of 10 days. Plus, I really like making things simple, long-form content tends to deviate from that way of thinking :)
funerr··on Ask HN: What hyper-focused industry newsletters do you enjoy?
Hi! I'm the creator of unzip.dev, thanks for the shout out!
funerr··on Ask HN: What Happened to Outline.com?
Open sourcing it?
funerr··on I switched my newsletters from Substack and Mailchimp to Buttondown
You didn't move to substack you mean? And how do you know if it was regretful?
funerr··on Ask HN: Simplest stack to build web apps in 2021?
Next.js, React is the de-facto fronted way of doing things. Why not super charge it with SSG, SSR and other bells and whistles and the ability to deploy easily to vercel/netlify.
funerr··on Wiz has a $6B valuation after only 18 months
I agree that the whole industry smells like a bubble, but these guys were high execs at Microsoft prior to that, maybe they just leveraged the investing landscape and still have some reason? idk
funerr··on Mozilla to put ads in Firefox address bar suggestions
I guess you can use chromium browser (https://www.chromium.org/) ?
funerr··on Mozilla to put ads in Firefox address bar suggestions
I really wouldn't mind paying for Firefox. Why can't I pay for not having ads?
funerr··on Mossad assassinated Iran’s chief nuke scientist with remote AI gun – report
Your last comment implies that you know for sure that the JP wants to give an impression, which could be true, but I would be careful saying things like this with 100% certainty.
funerr··on Show HN: SlashApi – a web platform to build REST APIs without code
I think this utterly needs a video to explain the product.
funerr··on My Opinion on Blockchain
What about coins that use different underlying tech? like IOTA [1] (from what I last read about it). The basic premise, if I remember correctly, is that you pay the "fee" by checking 2 past transactions - thus eliminating the never-ending battle of miners and users. The purpose isn't a currency exactly and more of a tool to exchange data and value.

I agree that the UX of the whole crypto scene is crazy with the bottleneck of keeping your secret in a safe place, but you get some drawbacks I guess.

funerr··on Ask HN: Where do you draw the line between a co-founder and early employee?
One of the ideas I had to instill more motivation is to apply @goopthink's definition with the added idea of "reverse-title-vesting" meaning that if you stay with us for more than X years then you become a founder too, if you were one of the early employees (let's say up until the 3rd employee).
funerr··on What's so hard about PDF text extraction?
Did you publish your fixes so this could help others too? it seems like this repo is unmaintained atm.
funerr··on Ask HN: What are some dev culture tricks you have in your company?
Hmm it reminds me of the culture of fostering changes that are wise" in a company, but on the other hand not being arrogant.

I always wrote in a notebook the things that we're weird or off in a new place and then after 3-4 months I would bring the issues that I still saw relevant. That criticism was much more welcomed.
