fuckinpuppers··on LinkedIn Larpmaxxing
I do not have LinkedIn and to contact a person off the site to apply for a job and they told me that “for this role LinkedIn is mandatory” it has nothing to do with marketing it is a tech job. Why does it matter where their source came from?

Indian recruiter multiple layers of obfuscation garbage. I am sure they are simply resume and connect harvesting. I cannot see how a tech job recruiter wouldn’t try to get their opening filled in any way possible.

fuckinpuppers··on U.S. appeals court upholds designation of Anthropic as supply chain risk
Wtf is life just court battles back and forth for everything forever now?
fuckinpuppers··on US coal 'biggest contributor by far' to rise in global emissions
The US loves winning!
fuckinpuppers··on My last six months at Evernote
Same. Obsidian is a bit more DIY feeling, not as polished of an interface but it does exactly what I need… and their sync engine is fast as hell. I pay for sync. I know I don’t need to if I really wanted to run it for free, but it’s worth it (and 50% cheaper than Evernote soon, while supporting the company)
fuckinpuppers··on My last six months at Evernote
Text placement being restrictive is exactly what I want. I hate onenote’s sloppy feel. That is how some people want it, but people like me don’t. Seems like there should be some ways to address both audiences
fuckinpuppers··on My last six months at Evernote
They just sent out pricing updates and it’s nearly doubling the price I was paying before. Their lower tier limits my usage and is still 75% of what I’m paying now.

It’s just accelerated my exit plan.

fuckinpuppers··on Portal by Spotify cut my Claude Code token usage by 90%
iTunes. Still in 2026
fuckinpuppers··on CERN Transitioning Computers To Debian After Being A Longtime RHEL Institution
Good. Debian is great and Rhel sucks
fuckinpuppers··on Fairphone is now officially available in the United States
Love this idea but carrier limitations, eSIM limitations, kind of an odd start. I am sure it’s licensing and radio costs or limitations. But I would assume anything launching nowadays would support esims 100% and could jump networks without an issue.
fuckinpuppers··on US strikes $1.2B deal to pay German firm to halt offshore wind projects
America first! Somehow?
fuckinpuppers··on FFmpeg 9.0
Bless everyone who has the patience to deal with all the crazy crap audio video etc codecs and stuff throws out there and they figure out ways to put it into a free tool suite.
fuckinpuppers··on Drug reverses autism-like brain changes in adult mice within hours
I’ve always just viewed autism and the spectrum as the next step in our evolution. It’s not neurotypical vs spectrum anymore. I just think less and less people are neuro “typical”
fuckinpuppers··on America pays workers just 27% of what its wealth allows – the worst in the OECD
Yeah the USA has only given lip service for everything it claims to be. Especially in the last 18 months it’s been working overtime to make it even worse.

All the US has done is allow for massive amounts of wealth hoarding and gaslighting of a significant portion of the population into voting and supporting things against their own beliefs or common sense.

If you said “China allows red dye 12 in their food and it’s been proven to cause cancer” they’d freak out about it. But they don’t see any problem back home.

fuckinpuppers··on Microsoft has released software updates to plug at least 570 security holes
This is great. Now ask Mythos to make windows suck less and let it go crazy.
fuckinpuppers··on Data centers have hiked electricity prices on the public by $23B
It is crazy to me that somehow customers pay to cover some of the costs for datacenters. I thought everything was usage based, but apparently that is not the case everywhere and it’s a shared burden? What kind of weird crap is that
fuckinpuppers··on China sentences official to death for taking $325M in bribes
In the US that’s republican representative behavior! With a pardon to boot
fuckinpuppers··on FDA rejects petition to set PFAS limits in food
MAHA … am I right? What a joke!
fuckinpuppers··on Cloudflare Meerkat - Globally distributed consensus
Absolutely LOVE the name of this. It’s cute and I immediately envision the behavior. Solid choice
fuckinpuppers··on As downtown Seattle offices empty, city facing years of 'zombie' towers
Turn them in to housing.
fuckinpuppers··on My AI-built PHP engine in Rust passes 17% of PHP-src tests, renders WordPress
Use AI to make Wordpress secure and not suck as much
fuckinpuppers··on Scientists reverse brain aging, with a nasal spray
Mice get all the cool shit first
fuckinpuppers··on Prairieland defendants sentenced today to prison terms ranging from 30-100 years
And yet the guy concealing documents, moving them so the fbi couldn’t find them, storing them insecurely - nothing
fuckinpuppers··on Hetzner Price Adjustment
Holy shit this is a big bump on a lot of them.

I’m so tired of this timeline. Rich people pillaging everything, governments happily allowing it, cost of living rising everywhere, a lot of environmental improvements have been put on pause (to prioritize profits for the aforementioned people)

Everything keeps going up.

fuckinpuppers··on Microsoft turns to AWS as GitHub faces AI capacity crunch
Azure is hot garbage
fuckinpuppers··on Chrome is looking to permanently drop MV2 extension
Likely just terrible Indian outsourced development. Fetches the data via XHR, but hits a service that is flaky because of 5 years of A/B crap messing with it. Poor management, bad business stakeholders and crap developers. Welcome to the enterprise
fuckinpuppers··on Cheap Iranian drone downed $25M US Army helicopter–maybe by chance
Just you wait! The Trump-class battleships are going to roll in to conflicts and ………….. totally get messed up by cheap drone swarms

Maybe don’t have the buffoon who thinks he knows everything drive those kind of decisions

fuckinpuppers··on Starlink shifts hardware from one-time purchase to $10/month rental
I keep getting offers for $50/mo for service but my area is considered a premium market or something and they want $500 up front for the service (nothing to do with the hardware)

I live in suburbs. They obviously know I have cable and other options so gouge me if I want them.

I was going to go with $50/mo with the free hardware and keep it for backup when primary goes down. But not with that much commitment and no guarantees. They’ve already bumped the standby price (for no usage) to $10/mo on the mini

fuckinpuppers··on Pentagon raised threat of Israeli spying on U.S. to highest level, sources say
I’m confused isn’t there a bill to merge Israel and US intelligence/military together in various ways?
fuckinpuppers··on Ask HN: What was your "oh shit" moment with GenAI?
That’s a great way to summarize. Same
fuckinpuppers··on I tested every IP KVM in my Homelab
The GL products are awesome. I have multiple.
