That issue was resolved years ago, and any remaining limitations are due to third-party developers not keeping up with evolving standards.
Those criteria rule out everything from MSNBC and the New stork Times, not to mention all the transparently right wing propaganda media outlets.
Big Apple fan here, but I’m under no delusion that Apple will always make great products or treat their customers well. The moment they struggle to maintain growth, they will resort to the same user-hostile tactics that have enshittified the rest of the internet. That will probably happen under a different CEO, but I think it’s unavoidable in the long term.
The people complaining loudest are users and moderators who use third-party apps because they find Reddit website and first party app to be completely unusable.
Reddit won’t disappear overnight, but it will enter a steep decline in quality as we saw with Facebook and Twitter, and the minority of users who leave permanently are likely the ones who contributed the most value to the site.
Nobody wants a first party Reddit app with a terrible user interface, algorithmic timelines, and obnoxious advertising.
But they lose me every time I hear something about workplace collaboration or gaming.
