fotoflo··on Show HN: I put my Claude Code rate-limit burndown in the status line
I kept getting burned by rate limits in Claude Code. I'd be deep in something and just hit auto compaction or start to get near the end of my context window without noticing. Then I read about Claude's status line tooling... so I made this. Hope others find it useful.

The first line shows my context, token usage, lines of code change, and importantly how much of my 5hr and weekly budget is left and when it resets, and goes green to red as I burn it down.

The lines added/removed counter is the one I didn't expect to like. it's a quick "did I actually do anything this session" check, and honestly the days where I delete more than I add are usually the good ones.

Script and install are in the post if you want to steal it, or just paste the url into Claude Code and tell it to set it up. would be curious what other people put on theirs, theres way more in that json than I'm using.

fotoflo··on Ask HN: Roast My Website: Rewrote the Copy
Thank you! Really helpful to hear that! Like the idea of using the testimonials this way.

Thank you

I couldn't find "continuosly" in the dom - where is it?

"Continuous Monitoring & Alerts for Downtime and Page Speed. Share Notes, Discuss Changes, and More."

best → easiest? simplest? most straightforward?

I always found that when i was working in any type of data analysis, and there was an anomaly, i would figure out what was up, and then... a few days later forget. So having notes on charts and whatnot and being able to share with colleagues is the collaborative part. Especially around outages and slow downs, (or speed ups) we want to know why.

fotoflo··on Show HN: Open a phone number in WhatsApp without saving contact
Its coming...

Did you paste images into chatgpt to show it what the layout was looking like?

fotoflo··on Show HN: Open a phone number in WhatsApp without saving contact
Really nice and clean!

I made something a little similar - https://github.com/fotoflo/alfred-whatsapp-linker - this one is an Alfred Workflow (https://alfredapp) that assumes you have a phone number in your clipboard and then opens it in whatsapp. I suppose yours is more elegant.

How long did it take you + GPT to create it?

fotoflo··on Show HN: I made a Continuous Page Speed & Stability Monitoring tool
But it wouldn't be easy. It requires a pro plan on vercel to even run, because of the long time outs of the serverless functions.
fotoflo··on Show HN: I made a Continuous Page Speed & Stability Monitoring tool
No there isn't an option for that at the moment... Might be interesting to open source it if i cant build a business on it.
fotoflo··on Show HN: I made a Continuous Page Speed & Stability Monitoring tool
Not yet! Is that important to you? Can i ask why?
fotoflo··on Show HN: I made a Continuous Page Speed & Stability Monitoring tool
Forever with a limited amount of URLs
fotoflo··on Use Progressive JPEGs
Yes! For images that are large and you know the user will wait.

But why not use webp too?

fotoflo··on Show HN: Texturner – Human Translation Bot for Slack
Wouldn't it be great if your i18n workflow was as easy as slack? Well now it is. Just integrate connect your Slack to Texturner and be done with it.

(just launched this thing. would love any feedback you have!)

fotoflo··on Ask HN: Can a teddy bear teach kids to code?
It would probably need a good way to get input: a usb keyboard or something? But if it's an iPad teddy bear, maybe you're biting off more then you can chew -- teach them to read before they can code?
fotoflo··on Facebook wouldn't let me invite my friends... jQuery to the rescue!
Thank you. I went back and looked, and you're right, it seems that it didnt submit ALL friend requests, only about a hundrad apperently.

You can use this jQuery to click all friends who are clickable:

1) jQuery(".fbProfileBrowser .fcb.fwb.text").click()

fotoflo··on Facebook wouldn't let me invite my friends... jQuery to the rescue!
You can pretty much use this trick everywhere...
fotoflo··on Hacker News: Unknown or Expired Link
So... hacker news chose to let their product be limited by an engineering issue?
fotoflo··on Interview: Linus Torvalds – I don't read code any more

Thought it was going to be about Startups doing TV Shows. In reality it is about TV shows about Startups. Be warned.
