fleaaa··on WSL2 can now mount Linux ext4 disks directly
I like working with linux but linux as a desktop is still a nightmare outside of dev environment bubble.

Or use 3rd party app for time formatting. It got yanked on W11 though. I sorely miss it.

Seriously, should've named it WHUPF..
fleaaa··on The fatiguing effects of camera use in virtual meetings
English is not my mother tongue and I really appreciate when someone's camera is on. Lip, gesture, any language cue is very appreciated in general, even for remote session. If someone's mic is shitty built-in one and camera is off, it's hard to focus TBH.

But I do agree that turning on camera constantly is tiring thing. I thought turning off the camera in the meeting can be considered rude but now I've changed my mind. I wish there were a middle ground for having a language cue in the conversation while the camera is off.

fleaaa··on Ultra Wide Monitors – A pain in the neck? (2020)
Make 3:2 or hell 1:1 4k 32" not-too-expensive display, it definitely has a market. I'd buy three if it's a thing.

Fancyzone tiling is awesome, you can override win + arrow to each zone and save the position, You can even expand the zone if you drop the window in the middle of zone which makes another layer of combination easily. It has pretty extensive fine tuning options.

I'm using it with 3 monitors with different size and dpi/scaling and can't really imagine go back to the days without it.

fleaaa··on A first look at Windows 11
There is, but no vertical taskbar!

This might be only on earlier build though, it might be there when stable build released is what I heard.

I'm not sure this would be helpful but you can move around the window with keyboard win + arrow across multiple monitors with Fancyzone too.

Focusing the specific window is different story, though alt-tabbing or win + num might helpful for that.

My ergo keyboard layout is getting centered around ctrl and win mostly these days.. just saying.

I hate to say that the scene #2 in Berlin is completely nuked (big ones are relatively okay like the one you mentioned)but the small beloved venues are almost all gone which is bread and butter for the scene. If they aren't, don't think they'll survive till the end of 2022 it seems like, unfortunately.

There gotta be something to survive but I don't see any yet.. It'll be very interesting to see how scene changed after this era.

fleaaa··on Slack is down
Same here (Berlin).
fleaaa··on Ask HN: What Lived Up to the Hype?
Ozymandias it is, it wil live up to me for decades, such a good script.
fleaaa··on Google outage – resolved
I always thought gmail being slow is because of me using firefox but now it's surprisingly snappy. What the hell is going on?
fleaaa··on Booting from a vinyl record
It literally sounds like guitar wow pedel when it happens. It's due to the fluctuation of the speed of the turntable.

In that video the turntable seems like Audio Technica's Technics 1200sl knock-off version which is quite infamous for instability, it seems fine in short video though. Very impressive nonetheless.
