He was hilariously Saudi!
edit wow, that got very 4chan, very fast in the hour since my comment. The Internet for ya!
It wasn’t live tweeted, but we do, actually, have records. Some people were even there!
Have you tried to hire developers with eg AppKit experience in the past 5 years? I have, twice. Neither were small companies. Both routes went electron because 95% of the native Mac developer pool works in Cupertino or China, and it’s a kiddy pool at that.
$15 is a no brainer given how much I personally use it. Have recently found myself dipping into/staying in vscode more and more for version controlled markdown though.
Foreign policy/tragedy simply just does not matter to US citizens, US culture, or US media for various reasons independent of any moral failings, or gullibility (though that certainly does help things along).

Actually not as bad as I thought it would be!
Does direct powered electrical mass transportation exist within 2000km of the other user, assuming they’re in the New World?
Can see a comparison at 11:05 of the 1920 Rockefeller educational video https://youtube.com/watch?v=OD-sDlSDrKk
HN doesn’t allow lesser users with lesser eyesight to read light grey on beige self text, unfortunately.
Hobbies like this typically result from spending absurd amounts of time outdoors in the first place, that some of those most attuned to their local environments have turned themselves symbiont with the neighborhood apex predators is quite beautiful, and closer to where we should be headed imo.
Consider posting something like https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=28977462, which inspired a lot of sub comments and a good on topic discussion, vs yours, which produced “haha Kentucky and South Dakota”, “Microsoft/Apple bad”, “gigantic evil news cabal”, and “HN is dumb”.
In the United States, speech is free as in speech. And you can also charge a blacklisted Chinese tech company $500,000 for it too, provided you follow some terms and conditions.
The alternative is unregistered influence, undisclosed payments, and even freer speech unless politicians are isolated & insulated, and that’s just generally not a great move.
According to Walter Isaacson's biography of Jobs, the tech guru was opposed to allowing third-party to run natively on iPhone…
…Others in the know disagree with Isaacson's story and contend third-party apps were always on the iPhone roadmap; Jobs and company were simply not comfortable with releasing an SDK at launch.

I’m not read up on Cahokia, but it’s probably more similar to the dissolution/dispersal of the (lowland) Maya vs something like a mass die off.
Pre contact population centers were additionally in Mesoamérica & northern South America, where most of the total post contact population drop occurred.
Switzerland, and the German speaking world in general are almost always on the sidelines in issues of politics, tech, economics and especially foreign policy when it’s outside, or merely adjacent to continental Europe.
For issues in Europe, well, it’s Swiss & German speaking. In US affairs, of which there is slightly too much coverage, it manages to avoid the polemics present in German-German publications.
“Sacrifice someone today to help reduce the overpopulation/famine/nuclear war/greenhouse problem in the future, or else doom!”
Be kind. Don't be snarky. Have curious conversation; don't cross-examine. Please don't fulminate. Please don't sneer, including at the rest of the community.
Comments should get more thoughtful and substantive, not less, as a topic gets more divisive.
A cudgel’s a cudgel though, and this one came with blueprints.
Can absolutely see someone being part of that group before reading/realizing though, Watts/Blindsight is so different but almost “natural”. I used to think it was its unrelenting emphasis on competition, but there’s absolutely more to it as you say in its treatment of psychology, consciousness, alien/different life
I’ve never read Ken Macleod but I’m happy to look into him now, can’t remember ever being disappointed in recommendations given off the back of Blindsight!
Electron comes with an enormous, deep, absolutely stupid big pool of web developers. I genuinely can’t emphasize enough how big it is, and how easy it is to hire from.
Montevideo, Montenegro, Monterrey, doesn’t matter. Hot, not particularly expensive developers are ready to churn out React UIs in your area!
Absolutely disheartening to see EVs amenable to people who drive trucks and SUVs though, one would hope their manly culture of overpaying for patriotic vehicles would change before the climate does, but alas.
The USA imports ~0% of its natural gas from Russia, >98% from Canada, all dwarfed by its exports though making it one of the LNG sellers Asia and Europe are turning to, as described in the article.
That’s assuming the DoE doesn’t at some point need to prioritize domestic needs over exports like Russia did however, as described in the article.
My comment was also about North America, which includes Mexico and critically Canada. But if you’d like more about the US, here’s a nice recent overview of its natural gas trade: https://www.eia.gov/todayinenergy/detail.php?id=49156
HSBC laundered money for cartels and helped eg Iranians avoid sanctions. Those are issues, but they aren’t directly related to ransomware crime like a crypto exchange facilitating payments for ransomware crime is. It’s somewhat off topic.
SCS is an export-everything/import-food-energy-also-basically-everything route for China.
Gulf of Mexico + Caribbean would be a far closer comparison with whatever non North American US exports that exist going out through there, and eg Cuba, Venezuela & all the other nations vs California’s fish.
