fgsfds028374··on Shell closes all of its hydrogen refuelling stations for cars in California
The more I learned about H2 the less excited I became.

The stuff literally boils out of the tank when your car is stationary. The refueling process is a weird process of suck and blow and it takes 5-10 minutes.

fgsfds028374··on 280M e-bikes are slashing oil demand far more than electric vehicles
They really need to subsidize the shit out of ebikes. The more people ride the better our roads will be for bikes
fgsfds028374··on Swedish dockworkers are refusing to unload Teslas at ports in broad boycott move
The system cannot be "fixed" because the winners of it have so much resources that they will not let it be fixed, undermining democracy itself if that's what it takes. Barring a revolution this is what we'll have for the rest of our lives.
fgsfds028374··on JWT finds an 'extreme' glow coming from 90% of the universe's earliest galaxies
RTFA please.
fgsfds028374··on Expanded Silverado EV Production Delayed a Year as GM Cites 'Evolving EV Demand'
Sorry about your son flirting with edgelorddom. It's something I'm very anxious about with my kid. The internet is a cesspool of unchecked antisocial behavior.
fgsfds028374··on Gnome developer proposes removing the X11 session
Another case of GNOME living in la-la land. So glad KDE became kind of nice in recent years.
fgsfds028374··on US sues eBay for allowing sale of emissions defeat devices
To asphyxiate cyclists in clouds of toxic soot while you pass them. Speaking from experience
fgsfds028374··on The Upcoming Mazda RX-9 Will Keep the Spirit of the Rotary Engine Alive
Very different intended purpose...
fgsfds028374··on Pillows to help workers snooze at desk
I visited the Japanese office of my company once and it struck me how much wasted time people put in the offices. They'd stay at the office super late, but nap for ~hours during the daytime!

I think that there is a cultural pressure to show face and be physically present for a long period of time that is unrelated to actual productivity or performance.

fgsfds028374··on Rimac unveils SineStack, battery energy storage system
It can be purchased by a consumer and driven on public roads.

In what sense is it not one?

fgsfds028374··on Nintendo 3DS Architecture
Ditto the Genesis, which used a Z80 for audio and Master System backwards compat
fgsfds028374··on Proposed US Rule for Portable Generators Will Save Thousands of Lives and $1B/Yr
I see portable gensets abused so much on boats these days, situated in ways that virtually guarantee CO pooling in the cabin. I think we need to administer intelligence tests before selling these things to people.
fgsfds028374··on Today I realized I now trust Microsoft more than Google. What is happening?
And the awful abortive DRM attempts that rendered your paid-for media unplayable when they lost interest. "PlaysForSure" lmao
fgsfds028374··on Today I realized I now trust Microsoft more than Google. What is happening?
Windows 10 and 11 treat you as monetizable eyeballs now, too. It's not a clear cut dichotomy.
fgsfds028374··on GM now has home energy products to sell alongside EVs
Present tense? The PDF you linked literally says that V2L is TODO and not specified yet.

"Future versions of this technical specification will specify the functional requirements and specifications required to achieve vehicle to X power transfer."

fgsfds028374··on My solar-powered blog is now on lithium iron phosphate
Already got one (3qt), love it.

Sailors are big into LFPs these days. I just upgraded my Beneteau to a 11kWh LFP bank and it's been game changing. I cook with a 1800W inductive cooktop, use the microwave, run the desalinator, for multiple consecutive days at anchor without running a generator or the motor. Unthinkable in the days of AGM deep cycles, they'd be dead in months.
