ffggvv··on Low interest rates in advanced countries have pushed money into real estate
its not about slums. the US has abundant land and houses are cheap in most of the country. It's just big (especially coastal) cities where the prices are insane. Alot of americans do in fact live in "fly over country" where prices are 300k or sometimes less. In addition, we are lucky that we have a lot of cities, not just one major one.

Contrast this to a tiny country like britain or japan with only one major city london/tokyo where everyone wants to live. Where land actually is a limiting factor.

ffggvv··on U.S. to release oil from reserves in coordination with other countries
that’s what jimmy carter did and it didn’t work out great for him whether or not it’s true. it’s the same reason politicians don’t tell americans to get exercise or eat healthy
ffggvv··on U.S. to release oil from reserves in coordination with other countries
lol i thought we were trying to stop pipelines and reduce carbon emissions?
ffggvv··on Does QE Cause Wealth Inequality?
pretty sure if you follow their blog then you're pre-supposed to already have an interest in finance. and therefore should know the basic concept of QE. It's like expecting a programming blog to explain a for loop.

not sure its the authors fault it got posted here

ffggvv··on Debit cards are hidden financial infrastructure
j.p. morgan existed before regulatory bodies did
ffggvv··on World food prices reach new peak since July 2011
depends where. in afghanistan and parts of africa, the issue is still starving to death. and even changing food prices globally by a few percent leads to marginal deaths
ffggvv··on World food prices reach new peak since July 2011
how many people have to starve to death as a result of these doves trying print unlimited money and give it to people out of "compassion"?
ffggvv··on Bid to unionize Amazon workers in New York nears milestone
look at detroit to see what unions do.

or teachers refusing to get vaccinated and prioritizing themselves over children

ffggvv··on Facebook settles federal lawsuit over allegations it favored foreign applicants
no one really wants to upturn their entire life for a discrimination lawsuit for a practice that doesn’t even effect them. if you’ve worked at any fang orlarge tech company you’ve seen it. But it doesn’t affect you really if you’re not on one of the teams.

and some of it may not even be explicit discrimination but self sorting. If i’m interviewing with multiple teams am i really going to join the one whose primary communication mechanism is in chinese/hindi and i’m the only american there? or choose the americanized team

ffggvv··on Facebook settles federal lawsuit over allegations it favored foreign applicants
it has nothing to do with referrals. its people who never met eachother but favor each other based on country of origin. such that certain orgs don't speak english at all
ffggvv··on Why can't we build nice neighborhoods anymore?
yeah sorry im sticking to my car as long as our population behaves like this

ffggvv··on Head of California's largest union arrested for theft, fraud
in california that number is closer to 50% than 36%, but yeah i agree that its probably not worth it though maybe they thought they were untouchable due to their position
ffggvv··on The wealthiest 10% of Americans own a record 89% of all U.S. stocks
yeah that largely accounts for the racial wealth gap as well (though not completely). As median age by race varies by over a decade.
ffggvv··on The Great Resignation Is Accelerating
Savings are at an all time high after the stimulus checks and enhanced unemployment. It just ran out in september but i’m sure the savings will hold people over for a bit.
ffggvv··on Facebook harms its users because that’s where its profits are
notice people don’t actually want to limit the power of fb, they just want to co-opt that power for the government
ffggvv··on Facebook is nearing a reputational point of no return
never heard a cogent criticism of facebook other than “they won’t censor my political enemies as often as i’d like”
ffggvv··on Newsom proposes $3.2B in EV investment as part of economic recovery package
meanwhile people are murdered and robbed in his states main cities at alarming rates and homelessness is worse than ever
ffggvv··on Insider trading by executives is pervasive – research
so i assume you’re a billionaire fund manager?
ffggvv··on Leaked grant proposal details high-risk coronavirus research
either way china covered it up and owes us repararions. atleast 10T worth
ffggvv··on Lab-grown meat may never be cost-competitive enough to displace traditional meat
even if it’s cost competitive or even cheaper, im not eating the disgusting frankensteins concoction in this article. I’d rather pay more for real meat. And if that’s illegal or sometbing then i’d rather be a vegan
ffggvv··on The reason employees aren't returning to work in America [video]
yeah, i’m sure it applies to a few thousand peoples but not the millions of jobless people. not everyone even has a dream they are passionate about following in the first place. for the most part people just want a stable job and to be able to enjoy their life outside work. there aren’t millions of new entrepreneurs out of nowhere. it’s a romantic idea
ffggvv··on Tesla's New Steering Yoke Shows Little Benefit and Potential Safety Pitfalls
they haven’t actually innovated anything or made their cars cheaper in like 4 years (the model 3 is more expensive than it was then). people are realizing autopilot is fake

so all they have now is their wacky steering wheel to get attention

ffggvv··on Why doesn’t natural immunity count in the US?
i don’t see how it’d be wasteful to know how many people have natural immunity. seems quite useful actually even if we determine they should still get vaccine
ffggvv··on Census Bureau’s Survey Shows Significant Increase in Homeschooling Rates
people also got to see the insane things their kids were being taught for the first time.

ffggvv··on Adults with history of recreational cannabis use have altered speech production
how’d i know every comment would reflexively try to find holes in the study. it’s funny i don’t see the same gusto for finding flaws in pro cannabis “studies” where it supposedly cures cancer and every other disease
ffggvv··on Google illegally underpaid thousands of workers
this account has had multiple owners.. i’ve never done grunt work
ffggvv··on Google illegally underpaid thousands of workers
"huge percentage".. got any numbers to back that up? i can tell you its a single digit percent at G.
ffggvv··on Google illegally underpaid thousands of workers
sometimes you just need someone who can write super simple scripts to help process/clean some data or do grunt work that none of the devs want to do. And sometimes this need is just temporary for 4 months etc.

I wouldn't waste a google dev's on grunt work that any coder could do.

ffggvv··on Google illegally underpaid thousands of workers
the engineers etc i’ve worked with that were contractors were far worse and way below normal google hiring bar. sorry if that’s not PC but it’s the truth. if they could get hired at actual google they would’ve done it.

hell, if they could get hired as a SWE at a comparable firm they would do that instead of taking a massive pay cut to be a contractor

ffggvv··on Twitter to label 'good' bot accounts
good bots = biden bots, blm bots, chinese bots, and global warming bots.

bad bots = republican bots and russian bots.
