feylikurds··on TTIP has failed – but no one is admitting it, says German Vice Chancellor
Critics say one of the main concerns with TTIP is that it could allow multinational corporations to effectively “sue” governments for taking actions that might damage their businesses.
feylikurds··on Twitter Just Permanently Suspended Conservative Writer Milo Yiannopoulos
Let me get this straight, Milo is of foreign-descent, homosexual, and has inter-racial relationships, but is a hardcore conservative? Why people take him seriously, I will never know.
feylikurds··on Boosting Sales with Machine Learning
Yes, you are correct.
feylikurds··on Boosting Sales with Machine Learning
When I read the article in the beginning, I thought he was going do linear regression, later I believed that it was going to be logical regression. In the end, it was classification with clustering.
feylikurds··on One-shot Learning with Memory-Augmented Neural Networks
THIS!
feylikurds··on Show HN: Goal, Go web toolkit inspired by Revel and based on code generation
Looks interesting, I would like to see benchmarks against other frameworks, especially beego. I have to say that this is the nicest looking web-framework for Golang.
feylikurds··on Ubuntu LTS updating failing all over the world
It is appstream, fix is:

  cd /tmp && mkdir asfix
  cd asfix
  wget https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+archive/primary/+files/appstream_0.9.4-1ubuntu1_amd64.deb
  wget https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+archive/primary/+files/libappstream3_0.9.4-1ubuntu1_amd64.deb
  sudo dpkg -i libappstream3*.deb
  sudo dpkg -i appstream*.deb
feylikurds··on Go devel compile times below 2x Go 1.4.3
I am very critical of this assertion. I am currently developing a multiplayer game with websockets in Go, and the compile times do not at all seem to be less than 1.4. I am using 1.6.
feylikurds··on Our software must get better
I can not believe that he thinks software's biggest problem is that most of it is free. His description of users as "bait" whose habits will be tracked (which seldom occurs with free software, I can only think of fewer examples than the number of fingers on my one hand) seems to exclude the fact that paid software (hello! Windows 10?!) can do the same thing.

Anyone against free and/or open-source is an obvious shill or just plain greedy.

feylikurds··on FreeBSD 10.3-Release on AWS
Was not FreeBSD already available as an image on Amazon?
feylikurds··on Turkish Citizenship Database Leaked
On the behalf of all Kurds worldwide, I would like to congratulate the wonderful people who did this hack and released the information. You guys are just like those who opposed Nazi Germany. We Kurds shall be forever grateful to you.

To any Turk that may read this: Ne Mutlu Kürdüm Diyene (Happy is he who says I am a Kurd :)

feylikurds··on TensorFlow Simplified Interface
OMG, it really does look easy to use, great work!

http://tflearn.org/getting_started/#high-level-api-usage

Incredible, the Shakespearean text generator is only 42 lines long!

feylikurds··on Programming language for novel biological circuits
It is not a programming language, rather it is a hardware definition language (Verilog).
feylikurds··on A revised Lisp interpreter in Go
Would not a JavaScript interpreter be more useful, especially considering the wider use of it?
feylikurds··on New features in C# 7
New features in C# 7: Tuples, Record types, Pattern Matching, Immutable types, and Non-nullable reference types.
feylikurds··on Clang vs. GCC – code coverage checking
Yes, but are there still tons of boilerplate? Or is there a 11/14/17 library that incredibly decreases the amount of code needed? For example a HTTP listener with routing?
feylikurds··on Clang vs. GCC – code coverage checking
Very good point. I missed that.
feylikurds··on Clang vs. GCC – code coverage checking
Dear God, now I remember why I do not program in C++ anymore (Go and C# all the way!). That pre-11 code looked awful. If networking was nicer, I might actually start considering recoding some of my projects in C++.
feylikurds··on Visual Studio 2015 Update 2 RTM
Visual Studio 2015 Update 2 RTM is full of bugs! Read the comments on the blog.

1. People are getting BSOD as soon as one opens VS.

2. VS crashes inexplicitly for no reason.

3. Errors related to Unicode conversion.

4. The Git component is buggy.

5. Extensions no longer function.

6. Even if one attempts to rollback, VS no longer works.

feylikurds··on Let's Encrypt and Nginx – State of the art secure web deployment
So the default behavior is to only email root unless crontab is edited, therefore most people would never receive an email (in case of renew failure), if they only followed the instructions given.

Otherwise mail is sent to the owner of the crontab.

feylikurds··on Let's Encrypt and Nginx – State of the art secure web deployment
But is not the default account that it would email root? I run Debian and almost never log in as root. Would all admin sudoers receive the email?
feylikurds··on Let's Encrypt and Nginx – State of the art secure web deployment
Ewwww, that renewCerts.sh is pretty crappy. Who the hell is going to check the /var/log/letsencrypt/renew.log everyday to see if renewing failed?

Could not they do something nicer with systemd and email?

feylikurds··on Xamarin now free in Visual Studio, and Xamarin SDK being open-sourced
Woah, I use NativeScript right now, but I will definitely download this and try it out!
feylikurds··on Super Tiny Compiler
Thanks! I was just telling people yesterday that I have decided to learn more about either compilers or operating-systems. You made my choice easier, I am going with compilers by studying the Super Tiny Compiler :)
feylikurds··on Interoperability and the W3C: Defending the Future from the Present
When reading the beginning of the article, I did not get what the big deal was. It seemed to me that W3C just wanted to standardize existing DRM on the web and if you did not want to use DRM, then do not visit the site.

But then I came to the part where developers can be sued under DMCA for trying to reverse-engineer the DRM (which inhibits new browsers, if they do not want to use proprietary binary blobs) and worst of all:

It would be a return to the bad old days of websites that advised that they were "Best viewed with Netscape" or "Best viewed with Internet Explorer," because the new browsers would be locked out of some of their content.

feylikurds··on The Little Go Book is a free introduction to Google's Go programming language
I would like to say that this was the first book I read when I wanted to learn how to program in Go and I am eternally grateful to the author. It basically covers a large portion of the language and most of what one actually does when programming.
feylikurds··on MicroG Project: A re-implementation of Google’s Android apps and libraries
What is it that would stop Google from turning off access to the Google Play Store by way of Store (Phonesky), especially if MicroG becomes popular?
feylikurds··on The Way of the Gopher: Making the Switch from Node.js to Golang
That list can easily be made longer. Off of the top of my head I know that there are many more projects which have switch languages to Go. What they say most of the time is (from the article):

Since our transition to Golang we haven’t looked back. ... we’ve begun the process of modularizing our code base and spinning up microservices to handle specific roles in our system.

feylikurds··on NativeScript with Universal Windows Platform Support
I have started to develop mobile applications with NativeScript and I am absolute in love with it. It has an Angular feel to it (I despise all things React). Before, I had only been doing backend work and I still have only taken care of the Web API portion of our NS app, but I hope to do some GUI soon. I am extremely impressed by NS.
feylikurds··on Facebook Allows Turkish Government to Set the Censorship Rules
Sex, Flags, and Ocalan: Facebook Embraces Turkish Censorship

The 17-page manual outlines especially strict policies when it comes to Turkey, its founder Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the Kurds, and imprisoned Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan. No other country enjoys such censorship privileges. Gawker.com recently posted the document leaked by a former employee of oDesk, the firm contracted to police the content shared by Facebook users.
