This seems like awful advice to inflict yourself as a burden (pair programming, always seeking review and validation) rather than being self disciplined, autonomous and professional.
bipio (https://bip.io) kind of does it, its an ephemeral web hook engine which can obfuscate content sources, with auth/ssl and temporary lifespan etc. I could help you out with it if you want to give it a try/experiment. email in my profile.
Concept attenuation.... don't think many 57th Century Ultra-monkeys (or drones, or praeter-singularity-humans or whatever) will know or care anything about the Pope. Brilliant thought experiment though, and love that it tests the bounds of discipline and rigour!!!
Sorry for the flippancy, what I meant was it's just 1 application layer protocol (HTTP) amongst the multitude you could potentially be serving. Trying to fix for that one service means nothing, big picture, to people who know how to suppress a network, broad spectrum. Think ICMP, UDP, TCP, routing protocols (BGP if they're feeling sassy), everything that happens on the wire and in the kernel and through upstream ISP's before it even reaches your web server - HTTP protocol handling is literally the last bastion of hope in a DDOS scenario.
I hear what you're saying but layer7 DDOS attacks are a mouth breather variety. Need to burn them with fire, network level. Because it's not just HTTP it's the whole network stack you'll be chasing around with wacky-wavy hands (just incase).
DDOS has nothing to do with HTTP, its a network layer (routing protocols) issue. Put another way, if frames are making
it all the way to your stack and up to a webserver in user space before a decision is made, you're already toasted.
I'm still constantly surprised that this feature isn't ubiquitously built into mail clients by default and users don't get a big 'enable encryption' button which automates sane defaults/manages the keychain transparently. It doesn't seem like such a complicated abstraction that it needs so much manual setup
That would probably take no time at all with chrome https://developer.chrome.com/extensions/history - push history events to a synced service, auto-tag content (with something like embedly or alchemy ?) - add some social bells and whistles, sprinkle some flat ui and CSS3 transitions on it - alakazam!
I'm already a fair way into building a similar paid tool (curated engagement via twitter+disqus), if its something you might want to try out ... email in my profile.
I think by extension of the Platonic school of thought Western culture has become deeply ingrained in dichotomous thinking applying such constraints to all areas of life (beyond simple science and logic), whereas Eastern non-dualism supposes all things (existentially) being equal. Neither West or Eastern philosophies do a very good job of describing each others domain space and yet they share many similar concepts. Karma (Theoretical) vs Causality (Empirical) is a basic example - they're exactly the same but few Westerners and particularly those in academic circles would admit to such a thing as it undermines Western status quo.
Enterprise ETL, process automation and service integration is a massive market, it'd be cool to see them buddy up with someone like Mulesoft. I tend to think these kinds of services aren't really suited to general consumers but there's definitely a place for it in the enterprise space.
