Providing support services to those who desire to exit the sex trade broadens the options available to those in prostitution. It increases their agency by providing an alternative path, that is their choice to take or not take.

Decriminalising prostitution, providing support services to prostitutes, and making the buying of people for sex illegal is harm reduction.

This Maine law doesn't go far enough in that there's no provision for structured support to help those who are prostituted exit the sex trade.
