You are wrong. Groovy had lambdas even before Java 8. Netflix used Groovy only because of that exact feature.
fastbmk··on Berkeley first city in California to ban natural gas in new buildings
A lot of countries with dictatorship regimes are natural gas exporters. Avoiding natural gas usage makes the world a better place. So that's a right decision.

fastbmk··on Redis Turns 10 – How it started with a single post on Hacker News
I guess 10 years is not enough to develop concurrent in-memory data structures storage.

Yeah, let's code like it's 1970's and multi-core CPUs are Sci-Fi ;)

fastbmk··on Pi-Hole – A black hole for Internet advertisements
Here is a Unicorn idea for a successful startup!

Develop a technology that protects ad-supported web sites from ad-blocking scammers ;)

fastbmk··on Pi-Hole – A black hole for Internet advertisements
Are there any technologies that can reinforce ads on a site?

fastbmk··on An update about Redis developments in 2019
TL;DR

* Clients will stay simple, RESP3 is backward compatible with RESP2

* ACLs are mostly an anti-fool protection.

* True multi-threading is impossibly hard to implement, but there will be some ad-hoc workarounds.

* Better persistence will be getting better.

* Existing data structures solve everything, so their number won't be extended.

* Read @antirez twitter to stay tuned.

fastbmk··on Practical Go: Real-world advice for writing maintainable Go programs
Go developers have a sectarian mind set. They obey the cult of The Three Creators, and some other minor advocates/evangelists like this australian dude.
fastbmk··on Practical Go: Real-world advice for writing maintainable Go programs
Go fanboys won't get it. They are too busy proving their language doesn't need Generics.
fastbmk··on Practical Go: Real-world advice for writing maintainable Go programs
No wonder most Go developers come from Python, not C++. Go is a faster Python with concurrency. Go is not suitable for serious projects, but is ok for mediocre devops stuff.
fastbmk··on Practical Go: Real-world advice for writing maintainable Go programs
One more advice - implement Generics in your programming language, it's 2019 already, not 1970s!
