fantalamera··on Show HN: GPT Engineer – platform for devs to tinker with AI programming tools
I used this when setting up a new codebase. It used and pointed out different Python libraries I didn't know existed. Pretty helpful
fantalamera··on Ask HN: What do you call technical debt, but for your career?

fantalamera··on Ask HN: Facebook Business Manager hacked and now locked out of accounts
We have spoken with several account managers, but they’ve ”forwarded the ticket to another team and can’t do anything more”

The hackers are currently thrown out, so we’re not losing tens of thousands in revenue daily because they are spending it, but rather because the account is blocked we can’t run campaigns on behalf of our customers.

Been contributing to different DAOs and this looks really interesting!
fantalamera··on Bashcrawl: Learn Linux commands by playing a simple text adventure
Shameless self promotion: if you don't want to learn bash you can instead use this tool to get the bash commands directly from natural language, right in the terminal: https://github.com/davidfant/terminal-x
fantalamera··on How much equity is everyone getting as a high level senior developer/architect?
Typical sizes of option pools are 10-20%, of which earlier employees tend to get more than later ones. To be person 20 and get more than 1% is unlikely, at least as an IC. I'd recommend reading this guide on equity compensation: https://github.com/jlevy/og-equity-compensation

They outline typical equity levels under "Typical Employee Equity Levels"

fantalamera··on Ask HN: Are there any good whitelabel reporting solutions for startups?
I can strongly recommend Metabase (https://www.metabase.com). Currently we're using this for all reporting dashboards for customers at Coast (https://coastapp.com). We connect our main MySQL DB and other data sources, and product people can write queries/visualizations/dashboards for customers without engineering effort. They support white-labelling and embedding in web apps.

fantalamera··on Lawyers automate this, so why don't airlines?
The letter X is widely used at the end of text messages and emails to signify a "Kiss". https://www.cyberdefinitions.com/definitions/X.html
fantalamera··on Ask HN: How to give better internal demos of in progress work?
I usually do this by recording short Loom videos every once in a while during the course of a project. It's really fast to do and lets people follow along on progress. Combining video and voice makes it much easier for your message to come across.

Example of a recent frontend demo: https://www.loom.com/share/09cf1b75cfcc423bad9f2587a2e35933

The nature of my work is often visual, which can be helpful for demos. But I've also seen video recordings of backend dashboards and logs work as long as you explain what's important.

fantalamera··on I’m Peter Roberts, immigration attorney who does work for YC and startups. AMA
I had my O1 application approved by USCIS in early March. I still haven't been able to visit the US embassy here in Sweden for the final interview - they've shut down processing non-immigrantion visas due to COVID. Any idea when US embassies will open up again?

fantalamera··on Ask HN: How do I make sure blog stays up after I die?
Google Cloud (and the other big cloud providers) have their "Always Free" tier where you can host a static website forever. This does not include you own donation of choice though, but solves hosting.
fantalamera··on Show HN: TypeScript to GraphQL conversion tool with type inference
Doesn’t Apollo’s Codegen tool already solve this? Works like a charm https://github.com/apollographql/apollo-tooling?files=1#apol...
