Completely agree.

I wish I could return my MacBook. Really don’t like this computer. Unable to resale it also for a good price :(

faizanaziz··on AFNetworking alternative: STHTTPRequest
why is that irritating.... Thats a good thing... There is no confusion of what is happening...

When there is async code the expectation is

CODE CODE [start_block { LATER - excuted in main thread }] CODE

Otherwise you write a ton of code with get_main_thread

faizanaziz··on An experiment in iAd
Definitely plan to
faizanaziz··on An experiment in iAd
Agreed. The thing is that after they have put the price to 50 USD it incentivises indie developers to test it out, which intern results in a higher fill rate for the apps. I think this is just a start, maybe there is a lot more.

Just a question is the CPA also really bad compared to the other ad networks?

faizanaziz··on An experiment in iAd
It used to be much worse. Read this http://rayvinly.com/iad-workbench-campaign-performance-analy...

Compared to other mobile Ad networks is this bad?

Remember this is not taps, this is actual downloads...

faizanaziz··on An experiment in iAd
Ya, crazy... Now it makes sense
faizanaziz··on Show HN: Coinwell - the easiest way to mine litecoins
India has very strict laws about corporate fraud. If you do find that the URL ceases to exist you can put a case on the company with the LLPIN mentioned, even the name is enough. That will cause India to cease the funds and arrest all directors and put them on bail.

Its not that easy to do fraud in India and run away. India is not South Africa, Soviet Union or Middle East. The GDP of India is 1.84 trillion USD. Many companies want to invest in India, especially companies like Walmart, Starbucks and so on.

India has car assembly units of Toyota, Nissan, Renault, Honda, Maruti, Huyndai and many more each costing about 1 billion USD. That type of investment does not come if your country allows easy corporate fraud.

faizanaziz··on Show HN: Coinwell - the easiest way to mine litecoins
The problem comes when you start factoring electricity and so on. In my calculation the difference is just too little. Plus you have the advantage of not investing time into it.
faizanaziz··on Show HN: Coinwell - the easiest way to mine litecoins
Again this is assuming the price of LTC also does not increase. That is unlikely if the difficulty increases.
faizanaziz··on Show HN: Coinwell - the easiest way to mine litecoins
True, however large corporations take large risks also. When you invest in services like this its around 1000 USD. Imagine when companies are willing to take upward of 2 billion USD risk they won't do that unless they are sure.
faizanaziz··on Show HN: Coinwell - the easiest way to mine litecoins
This is all assuming that litecoin does not go up in trading at all. If assuming litecoin goes to 40 - 60 USD which it was just Dec 2013, source http://coinmarketcap.com/xrp_180.html then the recovery time will be between 50 to 100 days.

Only do this if you believe in litecoins

faizanaziz··on Show HN: Coinwell - the easiest way to mine litecoins
How is that not a fair comparison... All companies will exist where "there is an advantage" right. But if there was the severe disadvantage of being in India like political and economic instability nobody would like to be there
faizanaziz··on Show HN: Coinwell - the easiest way to mine litecoins
India is not as economically and politically unstable as you think - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economy_of_India

Think about it, all the largest companies like IBM, Microsoft, Google, NetApp have huge campuses in India if it was unstable why would they be there?

Not really

"Freedom of speech is the political right to communicate one's opinions and ideas using one's body and property to anyone who is willing to receive them. The term freedom of expression is sometimes used synonymously, but includes any act of seeking, receiving and imparting information or ideas, regardless of the medium used. In practice, the right to freedom of speech is not absolute in any country and the right is commonly subject to limitations, as with libel, slander, obscenity, sedition (including, for example inciting ethnic hatred), copyright violation, revelation of information that is classified or otherwise."

First someone takes the pain of reporting a security flaw instead of exploiting it to help you out.

Your answer - 'its not a bug its a feature'

faizanaziz··on Are paid social networks the future? | Time Wasting Chronicles
Free definitely has its advantages. I guess it's more about awareness since many people don't really know the cost of free. But you could be right. People just don't care
faizanaziz··on Are paid social networks the future? | Time Wasting Chronicles
Well then thats your choice. But the more incidents we have where people who don't know this end up being caught by surprise the more I think people will care and want another option.

faizanaziz··on Never Trust Facebook
Thats exactly the reason why we built http://pixter.in . Facebook's incentive is to get as much data of you and retain it. Our incentive is to build the best product. If your incentive's are clear and aligned things like this won't happen.

Thanks so much Ameen. We are in it for the long haul, lets hope for the best. Thank you so much for your advice and support.
faizanaziz··on Our motivation for Pixter
The title of the article is Pixter, the title here is between free vs paid and our motivation. In my opinion this was more descriptive, since that's what the article talk about
faizanaziz··on Our motivation for Pixter
Oh ok… Thanks for that… The rest of the page talk about the features of the app, but I see your point… Will definitely look into it and change it.
faizanaziz··on Our motivation for Pixter
Can you please explain?
faizanaziz··on Our motivation for Pixter
Thanks so much. We need support from users like you and that's what matters.

We understand the need to come to other platforms, at the moment it is tough because of limited time. We have worked really hard over the past 3 months to come to this. There are only two of us, one designer and one coder.
