f6v··on Dots: Always-on agents
I think that's a reasonable concern. At the same time, I think there will be many careless people who will give the agents access to everything. Some of them will suffer when an agent fails. But that's more training data for OpenAI.
f6v··on Dots: Always-on agents
The non-transparent limits on subscription plans suck as well. You never know what you're paying for.
f6v··on Dots: Always-on agents
I kid you not, the research cloud for Danish universities is deploying a "sovereign AI". Which means running GLM 5.3 on their Nvidia GPUs. All that while EU designates China a strategic threat.
f6v··on Dots: Always-on agents
> 27 very different countries with no shared language

Yet I can ask a Chinese frontier model in Russian how to say the phrase in Hungarian. How do they manage to achieve that?

f6v··on GPT-6.1 Sol replaces GPT-6 Sol after just 7 days, with near-Astra intelligence
The sooner the better, brother.
f6v··on Samsung accidentally freezes its smart fridges with a software update
Old fridges last over two decades. I don't think that Samsung and others want these to last as long.
f6v··on AI Has No Wisdom and Neither Will You
> Before AI there was at least some way to tell apart good programmers from bad

That's why companies were interviewing people on tasks that had nothing to do with writing maintainable software. /s

I understand the concern and it should be addressed and researched. But, simply saying "humans were writing code themselves" doesn't provide any evidence for better quality.

f6v··on MiMo-v2.6-Pro: Intelligence, Performance and Price Analysis
I seriously doubt salaries are included. It must be just the electricity and GPU costs.
f6v··on MiMo-v2.6-Pro: Intelligence, Performance and Price Analysis
For me, DS Pro is still behind Sol. But I do think many people hitting the Codex limits in 1 or 2 days are doing something wrong.
f6v··on AWS says it can't restore some data from mideast facilities struck by Iran
> including acts of God

Serious question: how do we know something is or isn't an act of god?

f6v··on Claude is only available to people over 18 years
Yeah, there're people saying everyone should verify their age for the sake of keeping children off internet.
f6v··on Claude is only available to people over 18 years
> There should be some kind of OS level flag that can easily broadcast to products that a child is using the device.

Anything like that should be configured by the parents. Your child is your responsibility. I shouldn't have to take a picture of my passport just because someone is a neglectful parent.

f6v··on Claude is no longer available for minors
Wasn't writing on the wall when Aaron Swartz got prosecuted?
f6v··on Thelio Mira AI Linux Workstation: 192 GB GPU Memory
And people still don't believe Apple is giving a good deal on Macs.
f6v··on The same nine streaming subscriptions cost $702/year more than in 2021
With that attitude from the corporations, why wouldn't anyone pirate?
f6v··on iPhone Duo
I think the current iteration of foldables is still too bulky for me. But I can see how it'd be cool to have a large screen while the device still fits in my pocket.
f6v··on Flock Wants a Closely Surveilled World with No Exit
Wait till you hear about the UK.
f6v··on Anthropic researcher believes more than 10% chance AI 'could kill all humans'
I don't understand how this is news. We have a ton of science fiction talking about the very same scenario. We (as a humanity) just have no solution.
f6v··on My Feed, My Way
It just gets me how some people are telling me what to do in my free time in such a condescending way.
f6v··on My Feed, My Way
If only there was a device I could use to play games and listen to music at the same time.
f6v··on Arm Mali G2-Ultra NX GPU: desktop-class mobile gameplay with AI-native graphics
What's up with that? Younger generations don't even play on PCs anymore.
f6v··on My Feed, My Way
> On a bus or train, barely one or two people are actually doing something other than watching something online.

I mean, what else should I be doing? Self-analyzing and staring in the window?

f6v··on Live map of public transport in Belgium
I've first seen this in Moscow around 2018 (in Google Maps) and then in Ivano-Frankovsk in 2021 (some local custom app). I think such live maps are the best use of public funds one could imagine.
f6v··on Can I opt out of my input or output data being used for training?
Yeah, let's just sweep it under the rug then!
f6v··on Can I opt out of my input or output data being used for training?
Same company that has a partnership with Saudis, btw.
f6v··on Quasar 438B: Europe's Leading AI Model
>The EU comission is not directly elected, what else is the AI supposed to reply here?

I just asked Deepseek whether Xi can be removed from power and got an answer. It's not saying it's practically impossible, but that's what you can read between the lines. Which is similar to what Gemini produced.

f6v··on Iceland votes on whether to restart talks on joining EU
> Norway and Switzerland have a fantastic overall quality of life

Well, one sits on vast amounts of oil and the other has been doing some dodgy financial stuff for very long time.

> Iceland is probably better off joining the Schengen but not EU.

It irritates me so much how some countries get to pick and choose. It's just ridiculous how some countries refuse to join Eurozone. The UK used to be in the EU, but wasn't part of Schengen. Now it's not part of anything, but is still in Horizon Europe?

f6v··on Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash
Second tier models are like self-driving cars to the point where you question if they save any time. Sol can do a deep analysis and plan a large feature. Luna can mostly execute. There's a clear qualitative difference.
f6v··on Apple introduces M6 and M5 Ultra
> but even the M5 laptops are consistently beat on performance and battery life by Intel Windows laptops

The real question is whether all these Intel Windows laptops spin their fans at full speed when doing absolutely nothing. That’s something I can never go back to. I do some light gaming on my M2 Pro MBP and it gets hot when trying to push 120 fps. But my Lenovo Legion (that’s now collecting the dust) is so loud I could hear it through headphones.

f6v··on Xiaomi: New CPU matches Apple cores single threaded, much faster multithreaded
> many users (especially in China) still do a lot of heavy gaming on their phones

I think most children prefer to play on phones these days. Mobile gaming is huge. To the point where game loops on high-end games are optimized around thermal throttling.
